Face covering/mask alternative.
I purchased this to use as a face covering when out and about. Ordered at the price of £18.48 during the start of August, which has probably gone up due to others having a similar idea during COVID. (Folded in two with a filter fabric in-between, creating a more comfortable 3 layer covering). The wool itself is soft against the skin, however, the label is large (roughly 5-8cm long by 2cm wide) and very annoying. I ended up cutting the label out but made a tiny hole whilst doing so, a quick few stitches of thread solved that. This makes the product non-returnable due to my own damage and my fear of germs spreading. It would have been a better design decision to add a tear-out label or none at all. Maybe affix the warnings to the packaging?

Knock off or quality disappeared - avoid either way
Orderd one at the beginning of Feb 2021 - design was only half printed. Returned.Second one seemed OK but after handwash the design completley faded.Either:1. Knock offs2. Quality has gone through the floorI must have had a dozen buffs over the years and they've always been worth the extra price in my experience. I've got an admiteddly somewhat worn looking original one which must be 10 years old that still has all the elasticity the day it was bought.I've had three or four merino ones and _would_ have recommended them without question. The quality of this latest one is no where near the same as a merino one from a couple of years backAmazon sorted it with zero fuss as always!

Looks ideal for when the weather won't make up its mind
I bought this on a whim. It's still high summer, and I haven't field tested it, so take this review with a pinch of salt.I like merino wool. It's expensive, it doesn't last as long or dry as quicky as other fibres, and some fine it too itchy, but what you gain is versatility. It keeps you warm, even when wet, and or let's you perspire freely without getting damp or smelly, even if you don't wash it for days.So I thought it would make sense to convince a simple, versatile fabric with a simple, versatile garment design. The combination of thin fabric and long tube give you the option of wearing it as a light single layer or heavier double layer. The main modes of use for me would be: - hat - face / neck cover - furled up tightlyTo make the hat, twist the tube in the middle, so that you have two hats joined at their centres, and then merge the two into one. The twist in the middle creates an inelegant, but well insulated bulge. It's pretty warm, considering the weight of the material.I think the tube's star feature is the ability to furl it up and place it wherever's convenient – around the wrist; over the head – without having to think about pockets or backpacks.I'll test it properly this winter.

I'm a Convert!
I first noticed Buffs some years ago and was not convinced. Heavily marketed in places like Millets, Blacks, and Cotswold Camping they seemed very much an overpriced fashion accessory for trendy backpacking hipsters, and not something to be seen in as a self respecting gentleman over 30!Being a fan of merino wool however I recently stumbled across this woollen version which caused me to reconsider. The principle attraction was it's neat compactness; here was a garment professing similar functions to a scarf and more, yet which tucks down to about the size of a cigarette packet. Still somewhat sceptical I resolved to splash out on a very conservative grey version.I have to say I'm delighted I gave it a try. Small enough to live in my coat pocket I'm rarely without it now. Mainly used as a scarf or sometimes as a beanie to cover my ears. It works especially well combined with a hat or cap and is thin enough to slip under a cycle helmet keeping ears face and neck toastie whilst out on wintery roads without overheating - I'm converted now and will most likely get more as gifts. So why not five stars? I do think it is a marvellously innovative product with great value in it's versatility.Even so, £20 for a 50g 2' tube of fabric does sting the wallet no matter how pretty the packaging.- I still recommend it highly however -

Very comfortable
I’m a big fan of these merino wool buff multipurpose ‘scarfs’. They are lightweight but quite warm and very comfortable. The are slightly scratchy when you first wear it after taking it out of the package but as I tend to always wash new clothes before wearing them this was a non issue for me. I have a couple of these merino wool buffs and despite the washing instructions I have always washed them in the machine at 30c. After a first wash they are nice and soft. I tend to put the buffs into a bra or garment net before putting them in the machine. As a result of this they have kept their shape really well.

Bought several and all perfect and soft
Bought two of the buffs and arrived at different times. Lose fitting and stretchy material that is lovely and soft to touch. My last buff I still have, and I have had it around 30 years. I swear by the name and never had an issues. Arrived in good recyclable packaging which is a bonus. Size is one size, the buffs fit myself and my husband and neighbour. I would say they would fit majority of necks, with respect chunky necks may have an issue, getting it over the head maybe a problem, however on a cheery note, the buffs do stretch. I am very pleased, lightweight and thin as it should be, keep warm around the neck in cooler months, and warm in winter.I have bought several now and all brilliant. A big thank you to the seller, will buy more. 10/10 for packaging, delivery, contact and true description.

Disappointing quality
Product has a nice comfortable feel albeit a little tighter when worn around the neck than I expected. Biggest disappointment though was that it seems to be unravelling from around the label attachment stitching as can be seen in the photo. Based on this I probably wouldn't buy Buff again but would be happy to look at alternative merino wool neckware products
