Very happy with these little things! Bought these water sensor alarms after I had a couple of flooding incidents in a row in the basement of my house. I placed one of these by the floor drain and the other next to the sump pit. They work as described and are great for peace of mind. The alarm sounds similar to that of a smoke detector, and is loud enough to hear when I'm not in my basement. The alarm immediately turns itself off when taken out of the water source. Highly recommend for residential use.

Got these after too many leaks from coffee machine piping, leading to flooded cabinets for floors. (I run a convenience store) These will absolutely do the job, with the side benefit of scaring people when they get wet. I have found that certain surfaces can cause them to go off easily in a humid environment.Easy to assemble and install. They are LOUD. Have had several scared employees...which is desired for their purpose.I suggest - Put one by the heat pump, water softener, refrigerator with an ice machine, and by the toilet if you have a bidet. I gave the extras I had to some friends. Worth the pittance they cost.

Tested and reacted as expected and intended. Hopefully they never need to be activated by actual water leaking but glad to have them in place.

After a friend's house was flooded when her washing machine malfunctioned, I searched for some easy-to-use alarms that would let us know if the same thing was happening due to a mechanical failure or problem with water in our basement.These little alarms are easy to use. Just put batteries in them and place them near where there might be a water problem. Although the floor was not wet, when I placed mine, the humidity was high, and a couple days later, one of the alarms sounded. I think that problem could be solved by placing the alarm on a piece of paper to keep it off of the damp cement.

These do provide a little piece of mind. Placed two in potential water leak areas of the basement. Really loud alarm. Good product.

Talk about waking up the dead, this thing should be loud enough for a three story home. It is a little large and would not fit in our hot water heater pan because we have a large 50 gallon hot water heater. But it fit in our other homes 40 gallon hot water heater pan. Unless you need something that is very loud I probably wouldn't suggest this for in the main living areas of your home unless you like being scared to death when it goes off. It's better suited for places like the well house, garage, attic, or the basement assuming no one sleeps down there.

These are FANTASTIC Water AlarmsUnscrew the top. Install a 9v battery. Set it where you want it.I've used others that stand up and if you bump them they fall over and the detector is no longer near the floor.These are GREAT. If you bump them, they just move a little. They DO NOT fall over.I thoroughly tested these and they work without requiring a paper towel under them.Best of all, they don't attract attention.
