Kinco - Premium Leather Work and Ski Mitt with Nikwax Waterproof Wax, (901T)

Awesome made mittens for snowboarding. I've used a few different leather and goretex snow gloves/mittens for skiing and snowboarding - Hestra, Forum, XTM and FlyLow (which are Kinco's with SnoSeal treatment). I bought these after seeing all the ski instructors use them my last trip. All the above gloves are really good, but these gloves are by far the warmest, most comfortable and cheapest I've ever purchased. Good long-lasting pigskin leather, warm soft lining - inner lining has seperate compartment for each finger - and long wrist elastic keeps snow out of glove. There's even a leather strip on the wrist elastic so you can pull these gloves on and off without stretching the elastic. Well-thought out and practical design features. The only "issue" is that to waterproof these for use in the snow, you'll have to treat these yourself with either NikWax (two packs included) or SnoSeal. The gloves aren't waterproof "out of the box" though the leather is much softer untreated. I used SnoSeal which melted and absorbed easily into the pores of the leather (preheated the mitts using a hairdryer and rubbed the SnoSeal in). Makes the mitts a little more tacky, leather less soft to touch, and changes the color darker, but makes these mitts watertight and ready to use in the snow. If you want them pre-treated and waterproof "out of the box", you can by FlyLow brand (which are Kinco's rebranded and SnoSeal treated), but you'll be spending an extra $20 for the privilege and convenience. The size is true to fit (which is important, as the inner liner has seperate compartment for each finger), but I bought large size (even though I wear medium in all gloves) to fit my glove liner and slim wrist guard. Fits perfect with liner but without wrist guard, and I expect leather to be able to stretch out a bit while wearing the wrist guard. Also the plastic glove attachment clip looks rather delicate. I replaced it immediately with a small size carabiner. Seriously, these are amazing quality gloves - well made, good design, warm and long lasting - at a truly ridiculously bargain price (especially compared to the cost of other leather and non-leather snow gloves/mittens). Kinco's makes great stuff.

Bought these for my son for skiing -- he swears they keep his fingers warmer than any other ski gloves he's owned, and he's owned a lot. I haven't bought them for myself yet, but I plan on it.

A whole lot of snowboarders I know wear Kincos, here in the Rockies, and the sub-zero Vermont ones, too. I was convinced they were a hyped style, even though they're the same pigskin connstruction of the work gloves my dad wore. All the Kinco fans were right - they're durable and almost too hot in spring. The fun part is that you can draw on them with permanent marker BEFORE adding sno-seal - the best option for this purpose, and the only way to truly waterproof them, which depending how much use they get, should be done 1-3 times per season. Some folks have gorgeous art of them, and some, like me, just want puppet mittens. I'm never alone on the lift! 😂 (They really make people smile when I introduce them on the chair) My one and only complaint is that they don't have wrist straps, detachable or otherwise. I had to cannibalize old ones and sew them to the cuff off the Kincos. This style mitt is snowboard/ski specific, and most good quality gloves and mitts in the category have them.

Great gloves, but the wax was not with it. Not a game changer, would of been nice if it came with it like it said.

I have been snowboarding for 28 years and have always bought $100 gloves/mittens etc. These were recommended by some guide friends and damn they are awesome. lets call out a couple things, make sure you measure correctly, most gloves I am an Xl and I bought an Xl thinking their sizing would be the same. Their Xl is a little big on me. I had no issues with it, but still a little big. The mittens DO have separate fingers in them, but i enjoyed that and found them very warm. It was 24 at the base about 15 at the peak on my first day. I would probably rock a liner glove if it was closer to 0 but my hands were warm and comfortable. Waterproofing is very important! make sure you head the gloves up. I usually turn the oven on and heat to about 140 then turn it off and stick the gloves in the oven that is OFF. do not bake your gloves please! get them good and warm and run the weatherproofing into them with your fingers. when warm the gloves really soak it up. Make sure you force alot into the seems that is the most important part. As for dexterity, like most mittens you are limited, but i had no issues getting my bindings on or off. all in all a fantastic glove especially for the price.

I had a pair of these snow gloves and my kids were always stealing them, so we had to add another pair. These are the GOAT mittens. My favorite is the fuzzy inside with sections for each finger. these will keep your hands so warm! We did waterproof them so I would suggest taking the time to do that. These are the perfect size which i think is important to keeping your hands warm. We use them skiing and they are perfect and easy to grip the poles with. What are you waiting for- the best thick gloves you can get for this price- hands down (hee hee)

Love em. Look a bit different, warm and comfortable. Waterproof to an extent, after proofing, but as a snowboarder, on the floor a bit more and pressing on the ground to get up annoying skiers, I did find they could get damp. Still stayed warm though. Proof every trip at least I suggest.
