I used it to connect a modern laptop with an old vga projector and it works fine. **Q: will this connect my laptop to projector cable?** A: No - it is for use with the console port on networking equipment. You are unlikely to have a need for this. It has nothing to do with projectors, videos, or multi-screen connections. **Q: Is this the same as a RS232-C output?** A: I would assume it serves the same purpose, but it's a USB-RS232. If there is a USB-typeC there would need to be some software for this interface. **Q: Will it work with an Amiga joystick** A: No it will not work. The joystick is switches not a serial device. You need a gameport adapter ## Frequently Bought Together - BENFEI USB to Serial Adapter, USB to RS-232 Male (9-pin) DB9 Serial Cable, Prolific Chipset, Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7, Mac OS X 10.6 and Above, 1.8M（Not VGA） - OIKWAN USB to RS232, USB Serial Adapter with FTDI Chipset,USB 2.0 to Male DB9 Serial Cable for Windows 11,10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, Linux and Mac OS(6ft)… - SABRENT USB 2.0 to Serial (9 Pin) DB 9 RS 232 Converter Cable, Prolific Chipset, HEXNUTS, [Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7/VISTA/XP, Mac OS X 10.6 and Above] 2.5 Feet (CB-DB9P) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/56849136-benfei-usb-to-serial-adapter-usb-to-rs-232-male](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/56849136-benfei-usb-to-serial-adapter-usb-to-rs-232-male) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
