The Devil's Lair: A Mafia Romance (De Kysa Mafia Book 2)

Loved this book
I absolutely adored Massimo from the first book he was the funny loveable brother who even though their lives are serious when he was with Nico he just seemed so carefree and funny.Bianca wasn’t who I thought she would be when Nico kept saying he wasn’t marrying the spoilt mafia princess, and I’m sure he said whiney brat.Maybe it took her losing everything to realise what was important and she then became such a loving character.I didn’t guess what Massimo had initially done but as soon as Bianca received that call at the cabin I knew they had done this and were trying to lure her away.Glad it all worked out for them but I would have liked the actual thief to have suffered more.Great series and I loved both sets of couples in this series.

The Devil's Lair Book 2
Bianca and Massimo theirs was a slow burn affair or romance . The story line was good . And the villain I did not guess at all . Don't know if there is another book I this series will just have to wait and see . But yes this is a good story and well worth a read .

Oh Massimo
Following on from The Devil’s Den (Nico De Kysa’s story), we get his brother Massimo’s story, and what a story. The De Kysa’s and the Bamcorda’s are mortal enemies. Nico killed Bianca’s dad, and here starts the story. Following her father’s death Bianca is abandoned by those she trusts the most, and the only person she can turn to is Massimo, the brother of her father’s killer. The question is. Can she trust him? Another question. Can he trust her? Some wonderful characters, his adorable sister Eve, a romantic at heart, is a character to keep an eye out for in the future (I’m hoping). Lots of action (gory most of the time), one thing to take away from this story, don’t cross a De Kysa, they don’t play by the rules. Bianca though, is stronger than everyone thinks, and nothing is going to hold her back. She’s so headstrong, I loved her. Massimo is the ultimate mafia Don, and the chemistry between them is combustible, he’s the perfect book boyfriend in this addictive and truly entertaining mafia love story. Lots of suspense, a huge big whodunnit, and a whole host of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I was hooked from the very first page. A full five star read for me. This story can be read as a standalone, but it’s worth reading book 1 to get the full De Kysa wow factor. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Funny yet dark - the ideal man!
I’m pretty sure Nico referred to Massimo as “the funny one” in his book, which was most definitely true at the time but wow have things most definitely changed.I wasn’t sure about Bianca given her description in the previous book but I soon found myself feeling so many emotions for her. Sadness about how she felt about the arranged marriage and her father’s perception of her, bitterness about the aftereffects of her father death, but mostly awe about how truly badass this woman was. Her drive and determination to overcome were awesome and I loved her as a character. She was absolutely the woman for Massimo.Massimo has stepped up to the plate as Don, commanding respect and fear, with a slight cheekiness still apparently (for the right people) I loved his interactions with Eve.Their story is intense and deep, with dark moments and drama. And to be honest a twist I never saw coming, in fact if I entertained the thought there was a twist, this wouldn’t have been it!! Well played Penny Dee, well played. An amazing read and I’m absolutely loving this series.

Hot Dark Mafia at its finest
WOW, just WOW, yet again, Penny Dee has produced another knockout story in the De Kysa Mafia series, this slow burn story, is dark and dangerous with a suspense element that kept me on my toes from the start, with a conclusion even I couldn't have predicted, and that's before I mention Massimo De Kysa who is a tall glass of steamy mafia hunk, with a big dash of hotness, he may be the head of the Mafia but he also has some untapped swoon going on that you will fall in love with, I know I did.Bianca was the typical mafia princess, she shopped, ate at the best restaurants, went on the most exotic holidays and never had a care in the world, but when that all comes tumbling down, and the real world sets in, and the friends she thought she had turned their back, it will become the best thing that ever happens to her, and when Bianca reaches rock bottom and ends up going to Massimo the man that she had one moment with months before who also happens to now be enemy number 1 both their lives will never be the same again.

wonderful writing, but a bit predictable that it was the best friend.

demasiado lento

Massimo's turn.
In the second De Kysa book we get Massimo's story; which co-exists partially with Nico's and then comes straight after Nico's book.We were previously introduced to the Bamcorda family in Nico's book but I enjoyed the way Penny extended the development of characters into this book.I don't like spoilers. But I will say that Penny did a great job at being different from any other author with a similar storyline because it didn't follow any plot I thought it would. We get great sexual tension and scenes. There is always a great build-up with these 2 books.I do think the 'first time' could've been written a bit longer and all Bianca's firsts could've been given more page room.We get great character development and amazing twists and turns. I tell you what you won't predict what happens and it will have you hooked. You will laugh and cry in this book and be totally engrossed in it.I was sort of hoping while I read Nico's book that we would get a book for Arianna & Eve just because they are part of the family. But in finishing the second book we get alot about Eve in this one but none on Arianna. It would be interesting to see a book with Arianna with having 2 Mafia brothers. But we will have to see....A great book and series. I will go back and read about the MC series; now that I have grown a liking to Penny Dee and her successful writing.
