Epic Improvement
I am brand new to VR. I went to a VR adventures place with some friends and we were all sweating and huffing by the end of the game and I realized VR is a pretty fun way to be active. So I bought a META3 and I read the reviews of people not really loving the default headstrap. Being the perfectionist that I am, I started researching lots of headstrap upgrades for the META3. I finally decided on this one and I have to say I have zero disappointments. Is it 100% perfect? No. And I'll tell you what few nitpicky things I wish it did better. But first, the good. The GOOD* MASSIVE improvement over the original headstrap. The top strap combined with more weight on the back does an almost magical job of making the whole headset feel lighter on your face and require less effort to turn your head left or right, up or down.* The rear adjustment wheel. I love that thing!! Makes it SO easy for anyone in my family to easily slide the headset on, lower the back till it sits comfortably near the base of your skull, and then turn the wheel to tighten the whole thing up till it fits snug and comfy.* Installation. I'm a perfectionist and I do read instruction books and watch videos to make sure I am not messing anything up. But installation is mostly a snap. Two minor hiccups I'll cover later, but overall, I still would say installation is good. Also, a lot of videos show the user taking the faceplate off to install. If you are like me and that makes you nervous, rest assured, you do NOT need to take the faceplate off. This strap installs just fine without having to take anything apart on your META3.* PRICE. I saw headstraps that were MUCH more expensive than this, so I was a little hesitant, because usually the saying is true, you get what you pay for. In this case, you're just making off like you stole it! Price is very affordable especially compared to other "elite" headstraps that cost much more and have poorer customer reviews. The NEUTRAL* The battery pack. To be honest, I haven't used it. I like the idea that it comes with an additional battery to let you keep gaming longer, but the reviews talk about a loud buzzing if you are trying to charge it while playing. And the tech specs show that you won't even get the full advertised 2 hrs out it, probably closer to 1 - 1.5 hrs. Still, that's better than nothing, and putting the battery on the back is easy and magnetically snaps on, you can literally do it with your eyes covered. If the buzzing bothers you, there are workarounds I saw online. End of the day, if your priority in getting a new headstrap is longer battery life, there are probably better battery solutions out there from different headstraps and neck batteries. But as a free add-on to a more comfortable headstrap and gaming experience, it's a nice little bonus. The WISH IT WERE BETTER* Installation. I know I know, I said installation was good. But there is ONE step in the process that was a kind of a pain to me. The short velcro strap that attaches to the forehead part of the facemask can be tricky to thread into the new headstrap. If you look online people will share what worked for them. And here some people do say taking the eyeplate off the mask does make it easier. I wouldn't know since I didn't want to take that off my mask. Some people recommend using tweezers or other fine instruments. Its tricky, not gonna lie. But just get creative, or even try taking the faceplate off. It's doable, trust me!* Parts. The box comes with two gel pads that are not mentioned or addressed in any of the instructions and most of the online videos I looked up. I'll save you the trouble and confusion. The gel pads are alternate pads to the velcro sort of foam-leather pads that come with the headstrap. You can remove the foam-leather pads and put on the gel pads if you like the feel of that better. I personally didn't like it better so for me, the headstrap was perfect right out of the box. But it would be nice if the instructions mentioned it so you're not left wondering if you missed a step somewhere. So yeah. The good to me far outweighs any of "the bad" on this headstrap. Can't speak to whether it'll hold up well over time or not, but I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I'm a very happy camper. It stays on me snugly for everything from passively watching immersive videos sitting down to actively boxing and ducking and weaving in the Supernatural fitness app. Incredibly comfortable to wear, very well priced, and hands down an improvement over the original headstrap. Highly recommended!

Makes for a better more comfortable experience with the Quest 3 headset - Recommended
Got this to both boost battery life and play time as well as improve the comfort of using the headset. It achieves both without being prohibitively expensive. Fits a 7 year old punk and a 14 year old giant headed child equally well. Adjustability and quality both were better than expected.

Demolishes headaches!
THE PERFECT PRODUCT?? OK, right to the PROS list...PROS- Built for comfort by resting ON TOP of your head, and then securing laterally- That SNAP of the battery magnetically leaping into its cradle is SO SATISFYING- Audible battery tones- The rear head cradle is just right at any angle- PERFECT for wearing eyeglasses: bend rear up 90°, insert face, lower rear into place.- Battery has bright and prominent indicator lightsCONS- Whan inserted, the battery does not automatically turn on and I sometimes forget to press the button.I highly recommend this or other BOBOVR headsets that take the weight off your face and put it on top of the head.SUGGESTIONS:When using a USB Link cable, I suggest 3D printing a cable restraint clip, as pictured in my photo. It would be great to have one packaged with the M3. I also printed a cable manager that magnets into the battery port - it's great and more convenient than the clip.WARNING! When removing the factory strap from your Quest, DO NOT PULL THE ARMS laterally away from the headset - they will break off! Instead, use a twisting motion. This is not directly related to this product, just a general warning.

Well-built, but not for me
The BOBOVR M3 is something that's basically impossible to avoid hearing about if you hang around any Quest-related community for long, regularly hailed as being both extremely comfortable and being the best battery strap with hot swappable batteries. What I don't think gets mentioned enough, though, is that halo straps (straps that suspend the headset from a ring that goes around your head, instead of strapping the headset itself to your head) are pretty hotly debated in themselves. Some people swear by them, some people hate them, and it all seems to come down to things like head shape and game preference. For me personally, I couldn't stand this thing. The problem with halo straps is that while yes, it is extremely comfortable, the reason it's so comfortable is because the headset is only partially secured into place. The only thing keeping the headset from wobbling slightly every time you move your head too quickly are those two little arms in the front, so if your head doesn't fit right with those it can feel annoying fast. The strap itself is secure, and it never felt like it was going to fly off or anything, but the headset never felt stable during head motion the way I'm used to from traditional straps. It comes with a webbed silicone pad for the back that you can swap out, but as someone with lots of long hair for it to grab onto that only really made it less comfortable, and not really that much more stable anyways. The reason this is still 4 stars is because it is still a sturdy and well-made strap regardless, and for the people who do like this kind of design I can see why it's the reigning champ. I also do really like the ease of popping the battery on and off, and really wish it was on a more elite-style strap. It feels very high quality, and at less than half the price of Meta's own battery strap, but my own search for my ideal headstrap unfortunately won't stop here.
