5 x Virasorb 2g 5% Cold Sore cream (5 Packs)

Thought I had already reviewed this item but hadn’t, so here it is! A couple of us in the family suffer with cold sores from time to time and this is the cream that we find the most effective - it appears to be considerably cheaper than most of the others as well. It seems to heal the sores quicker. The tubes are good quality and a decent size for carrying around. The five tubes came in a plastic bag, which is quite useful for storing the unused ones in.

This is very effective and the best cold sore cream I have ever used and I have tried lots over the years. Great to be able to buy it in a five pack at such a good price.

This product offers much more value for money than a particular well-known brand out there! (That is, it has the same 5% Aciclovir as the major brand, which is the active part - the part that actually attacks the virus). However you pay for what you get - though effective, this cream is not quite a creamy as the major brand one (which seems to stay on longer). However neither is it as watery as the other cheaper brand Aciclovir creams, which I don't personally find work as well as they seem to "evaporate" away too quickly so you end up re-applying constantly! So this cream is middle of the road, ie. creamy enough........ and being about £4 cheaper than the leading brand, its an absolute MUST for anyone who suffers from reoccurring cold sores, who also wants to keep their money in their wallet!I've found that using this in conjunction with a cold sore machine can virtually make cold sores a thing of the past! (ie. mine come less often, heal quicker and are 70% less severe!). I bought one a few years ago for about £35 which was almost identical to this one: Lipzor Light Device for Coldsores

I don't believe there is an 'all out' winner as far as cold sore creams go and it really depends on severity, cold sore stage and person to person. After years of experience, us that suffer with them eventually get to know what's coming and how severe they will be. This time I got caught out. I have more than usual and as one dies down, another two pop up. Quite small and fairly controllable to be honest but still unsightly and annoying. I've tried a few of the better known brands but always open to try new reputable ones. I think other reviews pretty much sum this cream up. It's as useful as the other top brands but does come a bit more liquid like, or should I say thinner consistency. It seems to have an effect on the sores but needs a bit of rubbing in and stays wet on the lip, as opposed to another cream I use which dries and leaves a white coating. I've used this for the first time but also in conjunction with a heat device that I'm trying for the first time. Between the two, I seem to have got control of things and the emerging blisters have been stopped in their tracks. Fingers are crossed, but this cream is much cheaper than the other brand I used and a pack of 5 tubes is a bargain. I'll be sticking to this for now and see how it performs a the next outbreak.

Affective but I question the amount in the tubes. They seem to only be half full Pehaps that's why there so cheep.
