Unit Didn't Work (Update)
Unit didn't work returned for Replacement/Refund. After getting the new unit, 5 years or so in, the unit is still running perfectly. No issue at all, it recognizes all 10 drive instantly. Very happy with this JBOD unit & would definitely recommend if you can find one.......

Great JBOD device but beware if you want to use Parity Storage Spaces
Well engineered JBOD USB3 enclosure with individual drive bay power switches. Having used extensively for 2 months does not suffer from disconnected drives. However, I bought it to create a Parity Storage Space Array, unfortunately the chipset does not support this capability according to the raidsonic support team. The customer service provided by raidsonic is excellent with prompt email responses to queries. Whilst the device does not support Parity Storage Spaces it does (appear) to support Mirrored Storage Spaces with a write speed of approx 50 MB/s and sustained read speeds of 150 MB/sec with 10 x 8TB Enterprise Seagate Drives.

Problematic with Linux - buggy UAS hardware support under high load, works ok in usb-storage mode
You will need to disable UAS on either the host device (or blacklist UAS support for the ASM1051E chip this device uses in Linux) because the UAS support in this hardware is broken and fails badly under load.It seems to work ok in basic usb-storage mode though (though this is slower than UAS, it at least works properly). This isn't a fault in the UAS driver in linux, but more a hardware issue with the device itself with it's bugged hardware UAS support. Beware that this device is faulty as far as UAS support is concerned in linux.

Perfect for a home media server at an unbeatable price
I needed space to expand my Plex server and something to put all my drives in one enclosure. This enclosure cost less than my previous 5 bay one. It's dead simple to install, simply slide in the drives and connect the power and USB lead and turn on. Every drove has its own power switch which makes it very easy to isolate each drive for removal or diagnosis. I will be buying another in the near future if they don't sell out. It will greatly slow down boot up time unless you start your computer with it switched off.

Excelent device and a good price.
I unloaded the 10 drives from my 3 old failing Hornettek Enterprise 4x quad bay enclosures, loaded them into the Icybox and Windows came up with my full 30TB Storage Spaces drive intact. Just what I needed, a 10 bay JBOD enclosure. Only had it a short while, but even so I can say its relatively quick, fairly quiet and despite being nearer the budget end of such devices looks to be put together well and fit for purpose. I'll update this in a few months time if I have any problems, otherwise I recommend it.

It's USB3 but only works in USB2
Greetings!Regardless of having a USB3 connection, this unit only recognizes and works with the USB2 connection of my laptop.I tried it with my desktop pc as well and the same problem, only works with USB2.It does not work with any new USB3 drivers! By the way, reinstall USB3 drivers in Windows 10 is a pain in the ass!ICEBOX, no drivers, or support anywhere. If somebody can find the USB3 drivers for this unit, please let me know! Thanks!I gonna suck with this unit, but you do not have to, therefore I will not recommend it at all.Ciao!jfxsarmiento

Good device. Build quality a little disappointing.
This isn't an especially robust device. The general build quality is average at best which is disappointing for IcyBox as in the past I rated their equipment quite highly. That said, it does exactly what its designed to do and exactly what I needed.
