No matter how I tried to hold the log it would start spinning all over the place. Be careful when using this tool and hope you’ll have better luck then me, I took a big piece of skin of my shin while trying to use it.

I think this concept is great. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating, and this is something I didn't realize until I used this tool, is that when using it, it can get jammed in a piece of wood. Because the shafts screw in, I can't back it out with the drill. I have to use a wrench (thankfully the shafts all have a hex collar to use a wrench on). I'm using a 24V Kobalt drill. Jamming may not be an issue with a more powerful drill. Or maybe I'm just trying to do too deep a split. It is important to brace the wood so it doesn't go spinning. I like that case it comes in. It makes for handy storage of the bit and the shafts.

I attached this tool to a HarborFreight Warrior 12 V portable drill. I was able to split a 14 inch long by 7 inch wide poplar log, However, when I use it on an oak log (much denser wood), rather than splitting the log, the log rotates. When I stabilize the log against a step, the bit binds in the wood. I will attempt the process with a corded drill and report back.

This was not as easy as advertised, tried on various types of wood. Not easy to use on the hard woods the super dry soft woods had decent results but a wrist breaker for sure.

The wood drills I got 1out 2 and the drill was full of chips from the manufacturing process, and I got steel splinters two to be exact I had to dig out of my finger.

Does the trick

Not what I expected. Does not work well. I tried several methods. The bit got stuck a few times. Does not live up to the hype.

Did not work on hard wood.
