IRIS USA Large High Sided Cat Litter Box, Scatter Shield

Good quality litter box, we have two of these now, easy to clean, keeps litter in the box if you have a cat that likes to really dig and fling litter around, which we do, i like the design of having the recessed step in area at the front, makes it easier for our one older cat, she doesn't have to jump in just step over and in. It's really easy to use, just snap the two halves together and fill. Obviously being an open litter box it doesn't do anything to contain smell, but if you have a cat that hates enclosed litter boxes and won't use them then this is about as good as it gets because the upper lid functions well to keep litter in. Overall a good product that seems durable and unlike some others we have had the bottom doesn't stick to the litter and its super easy to just hose it out every few months and start over with fresh litter, we tend to clean it and add litter as needed for a few months then do a complete refresh which helps keep it clean and reduces odor.

Fantastic litter box! Our cat was peeing over the side of her previous litter box, so I ordered this one because of the tall sides. It completely solved the problem and has worked out great. In addition, there was an issue during shipping, and the company proactively reached out to explain what had happened. They immediately sent a replacement box, which I really appreciated. Excellent customer service and a terrific product. We're extremely pleased with this purchase. The quality of the box is top-notch, and I would highly recommend it.

I like this litter box... the top isn't secure but my kitten has had no problem with it.... this box is pretty small ... but the sides are big enough so the litter can't be kicked out ...my bigger cat doesn't use it because its too small he won't even let me take a pic.... its too small for grown cats

I enjoy the design because my cat doesn't like the closed ones and she is older so the door would make it harder for her. The litter is better too not so much on the floor. Good purchase.

My can’t used to throw litter out from all sides before I got this product. I was constantly sweeping the floor. Now this shield keeps the litter in on three sides. Wonderful

I took in a new kitten in the clear the shelters event, and she does not like enclosed litter boxes. I do not like open litter boxes as the sides are never quite high enough to keep the litter from being kicked out. This litter box looked like it would solve both issues with it being open (and opaque) on top, but with sides as high as my old covered litter box. Pros: The sides are high enough that litter is contained in the box except for when they kick toward the open side, and I have a litter mat to catch that. My picky kitten likes the new litter box because of the open top. Thankfully my older cats are not as picky and they adapted well to the new configuration. Those two pros are enough for me to continue to use the box for now, until I can find a more suitable solution. Cons: The plastic construction is fairly lightweight and not as heavy duty as those pans I've purchased through brick and mortar pet stores. If you use clumping cat litter, you know you sometimes have to bang on the pan a little to dislodge clumps. That is not an issue with most pet store offerings as they are a heavier duty molded plastic. This seems like it would crack under the stress of knocking the clumps loose. The dimensions seem spacious enough on paper, but the overlap area for the lid eats into the interior space by a couple of inches, so the pan is not as spacious as it might seem. It is fine for my small to average size cats, but this pan would be too small for most large cats or Maine coons. So far I have not had an issue with the cats knocking the lid off while turning around in the pan. The molded feet means the inside of the pan is not smooth, it has ridges where clumping litter can collect and be difficult to clean. The little scoop that is provided is a joke and doesn't even handle my kitten's deposits well, much less the adult cats contributions. Just throw it away and use a real scoop. It's not an issue for my female cats, but the overlapping area of the lid and pan are not leakproof. This may be an issue for those with male cats. It's terribly overpriced on Amazon (from all sellers) for what it is. I found the same pan online at wally world for less than 8 bucks with free in-store pick up. How did I know to look at wally world? The litter pan was shipped from wally world in a wally world box with a wally world invoice. Hmmm. Summary - in spite of all the cons, it's a solution for my current needs until I can find a better one, and I bought a second one at wally world to place in a different part of the house. At the price point, I can afford to replace it if it does crack. If it were a couple of inches larger in width and length, and made of a higher quality plastic I'd give it a higher rating.

One of our cats had to wear a cone and this box worked perfect for that, easy in and easy out. I have the top entry litter box for daily use and the cone would not work with it so it was great that I found this one. It would also work as well for daily use if needed. Very sturdy quality, not flimsy and well worth the price. It’s also a great size for older cats, our boys are 8 & 9 yrs old.

This is perfectly safe for my cat The depth is great The material is surprisingly sturdy Can’t say much about odor control because there is no top so you have to use a good cat litter It does help with litter reduction because the sides are so high The material that it’s made of does not hurt my cat in anyway

Our fluffy black cat is not a retiring violet & he needs a big litter tray. Finally we have found him one & he’s very pleased! The increased height allows him to dig about without any flying around the room. It’s wonderful!

I loved the product so much that I bought one more! The higher sides really make a difference. My orders were also delivered far earlier than the estimated time which I really appreciated.

Kitty loves this litter box. The opening is a little too high for a small kitten though so we put a small box under it to make a step for her.
