ABN Silicone Heating Pad 120V - 4 x 5 Inch Universal Engine Heater Car Oil Pan Heater Pad, 150W Electric Heater Pad

I mounted this on my car engine's oil pan. I did what others suggested and sealed the edges with high temp silicone. So far it has worked great for one winter. It only got down to 0° F this winter, but we had no problem. The car started easy and warmed up much faster than it would without this heater attached. It was kind of a bitch running the wire up to where I could connect it to a power cord, but that's to be expected with a front wheel drive vehicle with everything crammed into the engine compartment.

I bought this to stick on the back of my Dish Network Dish to melt off snow and ice build-up, happens here fairly often here. I was a little skeptical of how well it would adhere to the back of the dish which is a somewhat rough painted surface, but it has stayed on through rain, ice, severe cold and when it is heating the dish so I am impressed.

Heater works. Get's almost too hot to touch. My conditions are extreme and probably exceeds what this heater can be expected to overcome. The diesel tractor is parked in an unheated carport in Montana where night time temps get into minus double digits. All that said, I went from being completely unable to start the tractor to being able to barely start it in sub freezing conditions.

It has actually stayed put for 2 months now. At first it got over 200 deg, now it reliably keeps my oil fluid. It does what it says. Worth the $

So, I jacked my vehicle up in preparation for installation. It was already in the below 0 temps. I pre-routed the wiring and proceeded to remove the liner for the adhesive backing...it didn't stick. I couldn't tell if the cold made the adhesive negligible (you couldn't feel any tackiness) or if it wasn't there at all. I proceeded to apply some high temp silicone gasket to the pad (as I'd heard you'd need this to reinforce anyway). The silicone gasket worked in attaching the pad to the oil pan. I plugged in the heating pad to a working outlet and noticed it heating well. The end of the next day driving home I had already noticed a crack in the cord as well as a crack in the stress relief area. So not only is the cord not polarized, it's not weather resistant or stress resistant. A little disappointed as I put a lot of work installing this pad that had a issues out of the gate and during usage. I expect I might get another day or 2 before the prong end snaps off completely and I have to scrape off the heating pad.

We cleaned the surface and prepped it really well and they didn't stay adhered. They work pretty decent after we added adhesive to keep them stuck on.

Added this to my son’s vehicle last fall prior to him going to play hockey in Saskatchewan CA. He used it all winter no problem starting it. Easy to install
