tough to learn
These work great but they are tough to snap into place once in the water...If there is any incoming wave you will get pushed around getting these locked. So finding a place is what is tough to learn...If you try to lock them on shore, it defeats the purpose of having them flip up and sand will often block the lock so then you have to hop around to get the sand out and still manage to lock them. Also, if you bump them on a rock and they seemed to pop up but this only happened 2 times in 4 trips.

es an avid diver and loves his even though he’s teased how funny they look until you start watching everyone else doing the fin.
You need to except these to be pretty heavy when carrying to travel with but they are so great getting in and out of the water. There’s a really tight mechanism to open them so my husband helps so I won’t break my nails. He feels certain it will loosen up with time as his have over the years. H

Novelty only, not for serious diving.....
The mechanism that holds the fin down and usable broke on the 9th dive. Unfortunately this was also the fist dive of a week long liveaboard trip. I had tested them on a short weekend trip and they survived that. Very bad publicity, a boat full of experienced scuba divers excited to see how these fins would work and then complete failure. I had to "repair" the fin with a power drill and a couple of large cable ties.

Great design, Cheap build!
The idea is nice and the mechanism works getting into the water, I cant imagine trying to unfold it whilst getting out of the water or while wearing scuba gear. I only tried it once because the fin boot broke on the third dive, cracked right down the center after numerous issues with the cheap and flexible strap clips. The fin seemed well designed overall, and was pleasant to use on the first dives.

They need to develop a better release mechanism
They need to develop a better release mechanism. My pair is incredibly difficult to "unhinge". And I'm afraid to attempt to overflex the release in order to "loosen" it up..I don't see how I could easily release the catch to flip them up while dealing with choppy waters.Wait for a better version with a release that resemble the strap buckles that flip up.. Or even a hasp with a turn peg..

terrible fin
I have been snorkelling for around 40 years so have had many different kinds of fins through the years, and these were the worst fins i have ever tried. Fortunately had good customer service and was able to return. The release mechanism was very hard to flip and then when it finally released it cut my finger. Fin then hit my shin pretty hard. The fin was way too long and impossible to walk in when flipped up. Better off as i have been doing, wearing swim shoes with open heel open toe fins, so in emergency can take off fins and walk on shore. Glad i tried these flip fins at home before heading out to snorkel and then trying to flip up in the sand. Usually i dont give bad reviews, but want to forewarn consumers. I am a small woman, so maybe these would be ok for someone over 6 foot tall/ But for someone like myself they dont work.
