Amazing.. It did hold a rifle barrel without damage. I was able to torque 45 inch-ft without hesitation in a 4 inch vise. The magnets are located in the right location, so it will stay in place. The moldings holding the padding are the reasonable size. The pads with multiple V notches properly hold multiple sizes or cylindrical materials. The flat pads works very good for non marring projects. Both they grip, won't slip. Whoever invented them is a weekend warrior, or definitely uses the vise for multi use. It might cost a few bucks more than normal soft jaws, but they are very nicely made.

These soft jaws gave new life to an old beast of a vice. My big machinists vice was left in our new house on an old rickety wooden work bench in the basement when we moved in. I recently created a new shop area and wanted to keep the vice alive. It is big and heavy and pretty brutal for small items. Adding these soft jaws made it a whole new thing. I like that you get two sets of jaw face pads. One simply with some texture and one with notches for screws, pipes, dowels or other objects. The removable jaws also are magnetic backed so they can be stored right below on the steel bench. The frame of the jaws has a bottom lip so the face plates align fast and right and the magnets have held tight during use. So far these have made my vice infinitely more practical and usable.

Good design. Magnets are strong…maybe too strong as one has already popped out after just one swop out with the other pair of pads. Will have to glue it back into place I suppose.

These are worth the money they are nice for holding without marking up your project would buy again.

they work great for holding my hand guns whin i am working on them without marking the gun and i can still my vise for other stuf

These really aren't 'soft' jaw covers like the old rubber ones that I previously had. However, they are well-made and I've used them a couple of times in the week since they arrived. I bought the ones with "Z" in the description and I would urge anyone to do that. I can understand the bad ratings that they received without that bottom lip to help hold the red plastic faces from falling down. The added benefit is that it keeps them aligned properly. I'll just use a piece of rubber inner tube on the face if I'm working on something rally soft.
