Helikon-TexTactical Shorts for Men - Military, Hiking, & Hunting

I bought the pants, how could I not buy the shorts? Great pockets, stitching, zippers (though I kinda wanted a button fly), great cut on the thigh seam- a very sporty touchNot a complaint, just an observation. The pants were made in Helikon-tex duracanvas but the pants were in ripstop nylon. I want the pants in the ripstop nylon.Favorite material of 2022-2023 is the Helikon Tex Shadow Grey Ripstop Nylon... I would buy it as a duvet cover. I want seat covers and all kinds of random stuff in this color. Other brands grey like Proper, truspec, etc that I see gardeners and Venture Scouts wear sometimes is a really dull grey that is has like a white fabric base that fades light light grey. The HT shadow grey is very dark but colorful, like charcoal purple in the ripstop nylon and duracanvas and the cordura accessories and bags are sometimes this kind of seafoam/turquoise grey that is really close and has nice hue in different lights.Great stuff, I want a tour, please let me help translate your marketing collateral for the US market!!!!

These shorts are great, and I have several in different colors, plenty of pockets and they fits perfect.I actually like them better than 511.Only problem is finding seller in US.

I purchased these shorts because of the many pockets, configuration & the navy color, for use at work, have worn them 1 day on the job so far. A good pair of work shorts that are plenty cool in 80F weather.1) INSEAM /WAISTBAND-- I thought the 11" inseam would be too long, but at 5’6” I can walk in them comfortably & sitting down / getting up, they don’t bind at the seat, groin or catch at my knees in any way. I think the 8.5” inseam is a better look for a work / uniform short, but no problems with the longer inseam. Elasticized waistband in comfortable. Haven't worn these with shirt tucked yet!2) POCKETS – Plenty of deep pockets on these shorts. My bi-fold wallet fits fine in the rear pocket. The accessory pocket built into the rear pocket fits a Fenix UC35, 5.5 inch long, 1 inch diameter flashlight, without problems. Carried it all day, standing, crouching, sitting down I didn’t even notice it was there. It stayed put all day using clip included with light.The front pockets are deep enough, in the morning I dropped a hand of coins into them, & they did not fall out at any time. I was aware the pocket linings didn’t turn up & thereby spill my change when crouching.The 2 front pockets closed with hook & loop are primarily meant for AR rifle magazine & these fit an iPhone 8 with Otter Box Commuter case, the phone is difficult to remove while sitting, but it is secure.Rear pockets are plenty roomy, but haven’t used them to store anything yet. Remember these don’t have flaps over the top.Side facing Cargo Pockets are secured with a zipper instead of hook & loop, & I didn’t think I’d like that but I carried my wallet & Kindle Paperwhite all day without noticing any heft. My Paperwhite came out of the pocket easily, not getting caught coming out. These pockets don’t expand / aren’t gusseted. So large items may be a concern.3) HOOK & LOOP closure at waist, instead of snap or button, these are secured w/ Hoop & loop tape. This works well after you adjust to the H&L instead of a snap or button. The Hook side is on the left, being right handed it takes some getting used too. The Hook side isn’t sewn through to the outside of the shorts, i.e. you can’t see the X pattern sewn into the H&L, from the outside. I use a Safairland H&L belt – Model 99 Buckleless 1.5” --at work & noticed the belt attached to the shorts while adjusting the size during the day. I don’t like using this belt away from work, it doesn’t feel right & other pant slide down using this belt.4) WASHING –tag & instruction say to use cold water - Initial water temperature should not exceed 30C or 65F, Do Not tumble dry, Do Not Dry Clean & Do Not bleach. I used my machine's hand wash cycle & hung them to dry. I’ll see if any shrinking took place when I wear them again.UPDATE June 2020: These held up well last summer, so I bought 2 more, 1 for myself & another as a gift. The Helikon USA website seems not to have nearly as many products listed as their Euro site. They list the 11" inseam as having 14 colors & the 8.5 have 4, while the Euro site lists 15 colors for the 8.5. So if you want something, review the Euro site for more color & product options.The product tag states 38 XXL size & I wear 38, so they are comfortable to me. Like many have said, the X Stitching holding the hook & loop tape at the waist is a concern,- for me no problem so far--if you want, have it reinforced by someone who can sew through the hook & loop.The Rear pockets work well for my wallet & flashlight I've found, haven't dropped or lost either in a car when sitting. see #2 of ORIGINAL REVIEW.No shrinking has occurred, because I have not machine dried them yet, see # 4 of ORIGINAL REVIEW.

these fit well, they are not real heavy and made sturdy.

If you're looking for a great pair of shorts for an outdoor activity like trail hiking or playing golf, then this is a great pair of shorts. Well constructed, lots of functional pockets, and constructed of a durable fabric blend. A particularly nice feature is the velco at the waistband for an easy adjustable fit.

Well the shorts themselves look fantastic, great design, great quality, awesome! Sadly, they don't fit. The sellers site indicates that the Large size is 35-37" which put my 36" waist in the sweet spot. As it turns out, the actual product markings are that the Large size is 34". I'll return the ones I got and reorder the larger size, but I'm not happy about the run around. I'd change my rating to 5 if they could get the size right.

Very comfortable shorts for the summer.
