Cable is almost a foot shorter than advertised. As a result, doesn’t meet my needs. Inconvenienced with the return.

At first I was hesitant thinking I am trading 1 outlet to get 1 outlet and 2 USB ports when I already have plenty of USB hubs around so I wasn’t sold on it. Then I realized I am in the process of switching from a lot of microUSB devices to USB-C devices so I seem to need twice as many USB ports now as I did before. I’ve not been able to install this yet because I don’t have the correct size hole saw, however I tested it raw and everything is great. I could probably drill a pilot hole and use a jigsaw but I’d rather use the right tool for the job especially since the trim ring is very narrow and not very forgiving. This frees up some wires and USB hubs to help clean up your desk, and it really looks classy and professional in just about any desk application. It’s definitely better than a bunch of cables and devices eating up precious real estate on your desktop. It’s self-contained and runs cool unless you overload it, so you can mount this in pretty much anything you can think of which is amazing in and of itself. I love how deep the case. I am using this in my workshop and putting it in some particle board but I could put it in a 2x6 if I wanted to. More than that, I love how long the cable is. I don’t think I have any power strips with a cable that long. The cable is a good gauge and I don’t think it will get hot even with stronger loads going through it but I wouldn’t push the limits of this thing, it’s not worth the risk. All the plugs I used in it gripped and released nicely. The retaining ring screws on easily but secures well. An easy install that will look like your piece of furniture came that way from the factory.

I ordered the 20W USB-C version of this outlet insert. I have an old bar cabinet that I've turned into a mobile workstation that has a laptop (among other things) that is connected to my CNC machine. I installed this insert into the cabinet, so I could have one plug going to an outlet, then I can plug my laptop and phone into this. It works great because it is unobtrusive and convenient.Nothing screams high quality, but it works well and installs easily. Drill a 2-1/4" diameter hole, insert and screw on the washer. It didn't matter in my case, but I can see the flat plug in coming in handy if it is plugged into a wall behind a desk or other piece of furniture.I don't feel the quality matches the price, but at about half the price, it would be a solid 5 stars.

This is a good option for an outlet plug that is working quite well in my standing desk. It was fairly easy to drill the proper sized hole to fit into my standing desk, and it came with everything I needed to secure it into place.One issue is that if you are using both USB type outlets at the same time, depending on the type of charging cables you are using it can be an issue using them at the same time.

Good quality outlet for home office desks with cable holes. Now plug your accessories into this outlet instead of snaking them all over. I plug a single power strip into this so all of my desk devices have a power source without having to crawl underneath the desk.
