Finally, Room for ALL My Switch Games!
Let's be real, the Nintendo Switch's internal storage fills up fast. Especially if you're like me and have a growing digital game library. I was constantly deleting and redownloading games, which was a real pain. So, I decided to take the plunge and get this SanDisk 1.5TB microSD card, and wow, it's been a game-changer (pun intended!). Honestly, just knowing I have that much storage is such a relief. No more stressing about what to delete! I can finally keep all my favorite games on hand, ready to play whenever I want. Installing it was a breeze, and the Switch recognized it instantly. The transfer speeds are great too. Loading times seem faster, and downloading games is a breeze. It just works, plain and simple. I know it's designed for more than just the Switch, but for me, that's where it really shines. If you're a Switch owner who's tired of juggling storage space, this card is a must-have. It's a bit of an investment, but it's totally worth it for the peace of mind and the convenience. Now I can just enjoy my games, without the storage headaches. 5 stars, and a huge sigh of relief!

Good Size, Decent Speeds, Great For Emulators
Picked this up to be used as a functional retro games library for my emulator. It was simple to install and has great functionality. Really reliable and solid for speeds. It is not going to win any races but worked for all the high end handhelds I tested it in again. Would love to purchase a few of these for storage's sake.

Steamdeck rejects it, slow speeds, false advertising (or counterfeit?)
This deck is not recognized by Steam OS's KDE Partition Manager (which is what runs on a Steamdeck). The Steamdeck will format it, and it will run, but it will intermittantly fail. I was not able to get emudeck installed on this card, because it keeps failing during file writes. I was able to get Half Life 2 installed, which is 9 Gb, but larger games won't work. While installing emudeck, and while trying to play Half Life 2, I realized this card has a second fatal flaw: False advertising. 150Mb/s should be fast enough to game on, but this is way too slow for gaming. During my emudeck install, I transferred around 100Gb of emulators, ROMs, and firmware to this card. It took hours, and I watched the speed as it went. It bottoms out at around 5Mb/s, and it tops out at maybe 35Mb/s. It averages around 15Mb/s. That's around 13% of the 150Mb/s speed they promise on the package. That's just write speed, though. What about read speed? I installed Half Life 2 to this card. The game is over 20 years old, and I'm playing it directly out of my steam library, on a brand new steam deck, without any emulators. It should run buttery smooth, at any graphics setting, but I just left it on the out of the box, default graphics settings. The performance was jumpy and jerky. So this card is way too slow to game on. The Steamdeck community warns people not to buy cards like this on Amazon, because they say that Amazon sells counterfeit cards. I am thinking I should have listened to them, because I honestly can't tell if SanDisk is committing false advertising with their speed claims, or if this card is counterfeit. I am no counterfeit memory scientist, but this is the second card I've gotten from Amazon with similar problems, so I'm starting to think the Steamdeck community on Reddit was right. Amazon probably does sell counterfeit memory cards. Whether it's counterfeit or not, I'm returning it, and taking my money to a reliable brick and mortar store, where I hope I will get a card that just works in my Steamdeck.

I’m surprised by speed
I purchased this to replace the existing 1tb one on my steam deck. It was a little tight to get in and eject but it fits and tighter than the previous one that had to periodically be reinserted. So it is a tad more thicker than expected but the speed. I can install and run games with it better than before. A lot of the big games such as cyberpunk 2077, Baldurs gate 3, Yakuza infinite wealth, and dragon age all had to be installed on the primary ssd to use sleep mode and not have it crash. But not on this it runs smoothly and similar to the ssd speed so that was a pleasant surprise. It is worth the price for a steam deck or as an addition for a computer. As for camera’s oh yeah the write speed is wow. I don’t know how long the life of the reads and write is but it is first generation of this size so it will probably be usable for 3 years of moderate usage. Heavy maybe less but wow it is perfect for handheld pc’s first generation steam deck loves it better then the 1tb version it never loaded that quickly and that is why I recommend it.

Steam Deck and Emulation Necessity
Micro SD cards should not be gambled with. Buy quality and buy SanDisk. I love my Steam Deck, coupled with Moonlight, Sunshine, and WIFI6, it allows to stream modern titles seamlessly through my PC. That being said, I will always love classic games, especially up through the PS2 era. With this device, I created a Batocera boot drive and now run all my classic titles flawlessly, alongside their box art. And I can still use Moonlight and Sunshine. Here's what you do, you partition this device to run Batocera, then you upload every single game up through the PS2 through it and pop it in. Installation is that simple. It's a quality build that works well with the Steam Deck and has no issue running Batocera. I can now use this drive to boot into every classic arcade, N64, PS2, PS1, SNES, Gamecube, and even some PS3 titles whenever I want. No hassle and no wait time. The best part is you'll still have plenty of leftover space to install your less graphically demanding games on steam here. Meaning you can leave the internal M.2 SSD to run your more demanding games. Percect all the way around.

Good, but slow.
This is pretty slow storage in 2025, but it is to be expected as it is the low end class card. No where near the advertised peaks except for brief moments in specific use cases, which I guess allows them to advertise it, but don't expect sustained reads or writes at the advertised speeds. All in all it is functional and a very modest price especially at the 1.5tb size I purchased. Would buy again if I wanted large storage that doesn't require significant speed, which is what I needed it for and am satisfied with the purchase in general.

Wow!
I am using this as an extra media storage with my MacBook Pro, I bought an adapter that hides this inside the body of the laptop, it took me one day to copy the libraries into the card, the write speed is slow 25mbs, read speed is about 90mbs, so no issues I loading small files or accessing them, searching is SSD speed. I will be reading data off this drive mostly and I am super happy that I don’t need to update my laptop and pay Apple tax. Btw, it shows as 1.5tb on the Mac, currently I have 1.35 and did not notice any decline in performances. Very good purchase if you know its limitations….

Works Great On The Steamdeck
Well, up until a few days ago, I had no idea that Sandisk made 1.5TB cards. I bought this a few days back, and it arrived on the same day. I put it straight into my Steamdeck, and it worked no problems. Formatting took a while, but it's a seriously meaty card, disk space wise. After formatting, you will end up with a total of 1.3TB useable disk space. Up until recently, I only had a 256GB NVME in my Steamdeck. If you have a low amount of NVME storage space, a card this size adds some much needed capacity to the Steamdeck. At the minute, my Steamdeck sits at 4TB storage space. I have one of these cards installed into it's internal MicroSD Card Reader, a 2TB Western Digital NVME, which I installed about 2 weeks ago, replacing the 256GB one that I used previously, and a 512GB Samsung Evo which is read via an external USB C Hub which I have magnetised to the back of my deck, which is recognised by Steam in gaming mode. While it is true that the read / write speed for the card is slow, compared to an A2 class card, the storage space that it adds to the deck is immense. Mortal Kombat 11 took a bit of time to load, but once it had loaded, the performance was the same as if I was using any other MicroSD Card. What is so nice about having access to all the space however, is the fact that you should never have to keep swapping MicroSD Cards out, particularly if you only have a small selection of games on Steam. I can probably install all of my Steam games on to my Steamdeck now, without ever having to swap MicroSD cards out to try another game. I can just dump my games on the three drives that I use now, and just leave all of them there, whether they are large AAA games like the Hitman Series, or small indie games like Beat Hazard 3. I would honestly recommend that Steamdeck owners purchase one of these cards irrespective of whether or not they have a large capacity NVME, such as 1TB or above, or if they have a lower capacity NVME anywhere between 64GB to 512GB. Think of it this way, your turning a 256GB Steamdeck into almost 2TB, using this card, which is more than enough room for installing a handful of AAA games, and a good amount of smaller indie games. The, your turning a 1TB or 2TB NVME into a full fledged gaming system by adding one of these cards. 2.5 - 3.5TB, even without an external USB C hub, is still more disk space than what some desk top gaming PC's have. I will issue a single word of warning. These cards can be terribly flimsy. They do need to be handled with care. Once you install one into your SteamDeck, if you can, leave them there. If you intend to tinker with your SteamDeck, ALWAYS make sure that you remove the MicroSD card first, before taking the back off. Otherwise, your system will spit the MicroSD Card out of the SD Card slot, and it will bend the head of the MicroSD card. I've only done that once, on a 1TB card, forgetting to remove it, before taking the back off, and it ruined the card, as well as £100 of hardware. The ONLY downside is the price. Honestly, I can't complain.
