well made
I really love this bag. It's extremely roomy, seems durable and the color is fab. I was able to fit in 5 days worth of outfits, toiletries and shoes as a carry on! I'd recommend, especially for the price!

Great storage capacity
I think $40 is very reasonable for the hiking bag and rain fly been using it for a couple months now and haven’t noticed any issues. The buckles and straps still feel good.

Great for the money!!!!!
I’ve had this bag for around 3 years now. Ive taken it field mapping (backpacking) for a month and brought it on several other big hikes which involved long distances and steep terrain and its held up great! Its very durable and holds a lot of gear. Great for someone who is getting into backpacking. My only issue is the comfort of the straps, they’re not super comfortable but then again this isnt a super expensive pack. If you’re looking for a relatively cheap backpacking bag with decent storage and great durability then this is the bag for you.Side note: Im seeing a lot of reviews saying the zippers arent amazing and this is true, not very smooth to open. Still a great pack though.

Impressive. Lasted 5 years.

This bag can take a beating
I loaded up about 45lbs and had no issues with strap breaking or coming loose

Good first backpacking bag!
While it hasn’t been on its maiden voyage yet (leaving tomorrow), I’m incredibly impressed by this bag. I have been eyeing an Osprey bag for awhile but wasn’t quite ready for the monetary commitment so I figured I would give this one a shot. As you can see, it has a ton on exterior straps, allowing you to attach things to your bag. It has one large, drawstring compartment with three smaller zipped pockets. The main pouch is so large that I feel like Hermione reaching into her magic purse. I really pushed it to capacity and it seems to be doing very well! I did end up breaking one of the hiking pole attachments but, in fairness to the bag, I was trying to Macgiver it to be able to hold my sleeping pad. Overall, there were a lot of other bags around this same price range but a little smaller. I’m glad I got this one as it doesn’t seem like I had to sacrifice space or quality for the price.

RIGHT Idea in terms of Features... BUT Broke Apart in Many Places During Dry Run Load!
I ranked it 3 stars as hopefully some encouragement to the company that there is a lot to like about this pack in terms of many of its features... HOWEVER, what good are some positive features OR the low price tag if it breaks apart inside one's house (as it did for me!), before even setting food outside to use it!?! A number of other reported this too. In terms of where it broke apart for me:1. First it was a vertical rip in one of the outer water bottle holders (and for the record, I like to pack light... and, while I was still undecided on some of the items to bring, when I did my "dry run" where it ripped, I weighed everything and weight of pack + all my items came to literally 25 lbs on the dot = I was well under the 33 lb limit / NOT overstuffing it)2. The above-mentioned rip did not look catastrophic (i.e. like it had potential to spread to other parts of the pack); thus, I was still planning to use it and make do... however, the day I was supposed to leave, a critical buckle simply popped off when I went to load the pack on my back to take it out to my vehicle and leave for the trip! At that point, my gut feeling was telling me this was a disaster waiting to happen, and I processed a return, rushed to the local specialty store, and bought a high-quality pack.On the positive side, there were many features to love about this pack (but also a few that quirky ones that made it a bit of a nightmare); here is a list of both the good and the bad:1. AWESOME SLEEPING BAG POUCH!The lower outer zipper (by one's derriere) opens up from the pack's outside... then from INSIDE the pack is this pouch like thing that 'pops out' from the inside of the pack to the outside. Absolutely genius! You would then load your sleeping bag through the inside and stuff it out the rear in to the pouch! Because there is a small "bottleneck" on the inside, it easily allows one to stuff the sleeping bag through to this pouch, without the sleeping bag popping back up as you're trying to stuff it in! This overall design has other massive benefits: frees up pack space on the rest of the inside of the pack; AND, where the sleeping bag pouch pops out, it redirects weight closer to the lower torso / core of the body which is super awesome in preventing the dreaded "top heaviness".2. MOST STRAPS WERE VERY EASY TO ADJUSTHowever, there was ONE exception to this (and frustratingly, it's a pretty big exception / critical strap: the shoulder strap), which was an absolute nightmare to adjust (and it wasn't just me missing something, cuz I brought the pack to a specialty outfitter store that has MANY brands of packs with different kinds of buckles / mechanisms and they agreed the design on this particular strap was terrible and did not make sense). ISSUE #1: you MUST take off the pack to BOTH loosen and tighten it (VS, for example, on my more expensive pack, you ONLY need to take off the pack to loosen it, NOT to tighten it)... if this were the ONLY inconvenience, I could have easily lived with it however, ISSUE #2 was an ultimate deal-breaker. ISSUE #2: even after taking off the pack, it was NOT easy, NOR obvious, HOW to loosen or tighten it... in other words: intuitively based on how every other buckle mechanism I've ever used works, if I adjusted, for example, with intent to tighten it, then it would sometimes be loosening it!!! The buckle mechanism had multiple buckles / 'layers' of strap and how they all "cross talked" with each other and with the overall buckle mechanism was not at all obvious. It was an absolute nightmare to deal with.3. WATER BOTTLE SIDE POCKETS: both pros and cons here: they were halfway decent in terms of size, but obviously did not hold up (as explained above, one of mine very readily tore); different material / design is needed - perhaps a material that has more stretch / give; also, deeper pocket would help too (even though the buckles around them very nicely help hold them in place).4. FRAMELESS! For those like me looking to lighten the load as much as possible, I was very pleased with the frameless design (even the specialty store was impressed with this, cuz apparently from what they told me, frameless is very hard to find for anything over around 40-45 L5. Hood/Very top of pack: Two recommendations here:a) The buckles at the top are very well positioned... but ERRRRR! (to but buckle design): buckles in this location should be such that they can quickly snap open/closed and then be tighten; the "closed" type of mechanism = much less versatile!!!b) Hood / Top zipper pocket in this area would REALLY help

Amazing deal for the price!
This is a great traveling/hiking pack! I love it! It is made really well and is durable. I love it so much I got a friend of mine to order one as well and he is really happy with his!It fits all my essential items and distributes the weight on my back in such a way that I don’t feel like I’m carrying as much weight as I am. The color is wonderful and great materials.

Great Backpack
I have had my backpack for over a year and I love it, its done many multi day camping trips, bus, skytrain, ferry and hiking in to campsite, its held up fantasically well and holds everything I could need. Super comfortable on my back and shoulders, great padding and lightweight. I discoverd it had a rain cover today 😂 Highly recommend.Only downside for me were the straps right at the top were not long enough to get around my tent, so I replaced with longer straps from MEC
