Cut a new thread
Just as described, worked a treat. I actually used it to cut an entirely new thread (in quite soft metal) after failing to extract a screw that seemed harder steel than the material it was in, and so ultimately drilled it out for a slightly larger hole. Not really meant for that though, but no doubt it can realign somewhat existing threads nicely if it can cut anew.

Does what its supposed to.
Bought the M4 version to chase the threads on kitchen cabinet knobs some clever person had wrecked by fitting them using wood screws. Worked perfectly so I don't have replace every knob in my kitchen as I fix the 3 damaged ones. I think the knobs are brass. Can't speak to the longevity of the product as only used it twice so far which is why I've given it four stars. Buying this was cheaper than 20-odd knobs.

Very Handy Little Tool
This CK re-threading tool (M3.5 x 0.6) is a very handy thing to have in your tool bag. It’s perfect for cleaning out damaged or paint-filled threads in switch and socket back boxes, making fitting screws much easier. Simple to use, well made, and does exactly what it’s designed to do. One of those small tools that proves its worth very quickly.

A cut above
I had a similar tool to this for many years until I mislaid it. It is the kind of tool most divers don’t realise they need - until the day they struggle to refit a switch or socket to an older back box. This CK tool is the right size, well made so it fits in the hand like a screwdriver and should prove to be good value for money.

Didn’t work for me
Had to re-tap the lugs in the patress box behind a light switch, this should have been ideal for the job but just didn’t work for me, maybe the lugs were too far gone. The tool itself is well made and easy to use so can’t complain on that score.
