I’ve experimented with framing points and tiny magnets and all sorts of other MacGyverisms (the original series, not the reboot which is awful) to keep the panel secured. It didn’t even dawn on me to use these, which have been on picture frames for the last 1000 years. They are metal and as durable as any others I’ve come across over the years. They attach easily and securely and perform as well as I hoped they would. The finish seems durable, but they are hidden anyway and unless you are opening and closing them many times, these should last forever. Just don’t over-torque the screws. They hold securely to the frame backing to keep your photo, backboard and glass in place with no worries of anything coming loose or falling out.
