I would also have been convinced I wasn't the kind of woman Sam appreciated.Add Chloe's love and worry about her brother, and things got complicated. The last thing she expected was her brother's involvement with the Russian mob. Which, in turn, put her in danger.Sam also showed his interest in Chloe, and it wasn't the best time with her mindless, and foolish in her concern, and attempts to track het brother down. Chaos, fear, upheaval... And Chloe wasn't easily believing Sam was serious.Danger, fear, intrigue... Chloe was overwhelmed. And Sam was going out of his mind to keep her safe. Excellent read.

Second time reading. If a man like him existed in this day and age, I would love to meet him. She was right under his nose but he was her boss and it was easy for him to see her as herself, that's the best way to start any relationship. Knowing him and his personality for 3 years is a great start before sex becomes involved. Having the family trouble just bonded them together.Loved the story. But it is what it is, fantasy. Ooooooo I do love the boss and his assistant stories. They are both attracted to each other but trying to hide their true feelings. Then her brother happens and things get HOT..........

Chloe was Sam’s executive assistant for years and his best friend for at least three. He wasn’t sure how long he had been in love with her, but she was prone to hiding herself under boxy clothes. It wasn’t Chloe’s gorgeous body he noticed first, though, it was her sweet caring nature that made her see when he didn’t eat and get him a snack or fuss over staff with issues.Chloe on the other hand fell in love with Sam almost immediately after coming to work for him. Yes he was great looking and well built, but he was so much more than a guy in a suit. In fact the suit made him look like it was barely containing something wild and that made him even more interesting. Besides, Sam was always very considerate of her and they had a great time together. Of course he would probably never look at a curvy and short girl like her when he dated all those beautiful models.Chloe took care of her younger brother most of her life since their mother was gone and their father might as well have been gone as he was never around. Nolan was always getting into things Chloe had to get him out of, but this time it was really bad. It looked like he might have taken something from the Russian mob and someone equally as terrifying wanted it and was willing to go after Chloe to get it.Sam’s right had man Axel kept his nose to the ground and as soon as Chloe admitted there was a problem, Axel found the out who the players were almost immediately. Sam saw this as an opportunity to take Chloe home to protect her and move their relationship along.This was a reasonably well written story that wasn’t just written for spice and romance, so that being said the storyline wasn’t bad but was a little short on excitement. It also had a great deal of a normally mousy lady repeatedly doing ridiculously dangerous things she was asked not to do “because it was her brother” and I found that both unbelievable and annoying. The romance was and little bit of spice was good.
