Great movie
Gambling addiction, father-son relationship, love, mixed in a non trivial way. For those interested, audio is in English and Italian.

OK drama - particularly if you are interested in poker
Huck Cheever (Eric Bana) plays a Las Vegas poker player talented, but sometimes derailed by his emotions, who has a troubled relation with his father both a talented and successful poker player. While trying to raise the entry fee for the World series of poker Huck meets the new in town and unworldly, aspiring lounge singer Billy Offer (Drew Barrymore). Whilst Huck experiences ups and downs in his desperate pursuit of the entry fee his relationship with Billie develops, but it appears that he is too wrapped up in his aims keep the relationship going. This is quite a long film, but what kept me interested was the poker scenes. I still do not fully understand the rules of this type of poker, but think I learnt enough to be intrigued by the contest portrayed. If you are not interested in the poker, then this film may well seem slow going. Huck is not always that sympathetic a character with his money-making approach: ‘borrowing’ from Billie, selling just about anything he can, losing the whole entry fee provided by someone else in a petty-minded poker game with his dad in a diner, and his overriding drive to beat his dad, but it makes an interesting story. Not much is made of Billies lounge singing and the romance is low-key. The ending was not quite what I expected but was probably better for it.
