In 2023, we rebuilt my grandparents’ home and moved in just before Thanksgiving. For the lighting, I grabbed 25 Lumary 6" Retrofit Can Lights because, hey, they were cheaper than Govee. Big mistake. Within the first month, three lights went haywire—one started blinking dimly in random colors, and others just straight-up lost connection. Over the next few months, I replaced somewhere between five and eight of them. Lumary even offered me a full refund as a goodwill gesture, but (surprise) they never followed through. Long story short: you get what you pay for. Sick of the constant issues, I replaced one room with Govee lights, and wow—I wish I’d just spent the extra $20 per set upfront. These lights are flawless. No connection problems, no random glitches—just reliable, bright, beautiful lighting. The range of colors is incredible, and they connect instantly to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Plus, the Govee app is super intuitive and plays perfectly with my Alexa system. Since making the switch, I’ve gone all-in with Govee. I’ve added bulbs for lamps in the living room, my son’s bedroom, and even strip lights in random spots. Their TV lights? Absolute game-changer. Syncing them with the TV creates an immersive experience that’s hard to beat. And the Govee app? It’s regularly updated, easy to use, and often has sales or coupons, which is a nice bonus. If you’re trying to decide, take it from me—just spend the extra money and go with Govee. I’ve seen people mention issues, but Govee’s customer support is top-notch. They respond quickly and actually replace faulty products. If you’ve had problems with Govee before, I’d encourage you to give them another shot—they’ve totally transformed my home lighting setup.

These completely changed the look of the room. Installation was easier than I expected, and the Govee app makes it simple to adjust the brightness, colors, and schedules. The lights are bright, responsive, and work great with voice control. I’d definitely buy them again.

These recessed lights are awesome! They were easy to install and setup. Basically, it was plug and play. There is no flickering, and since I got them on sale, they are a great value for the money. Being able to adjust the lights for different situations and moods has been a game changer. I would highly recommend these lights if you were looking for a cost-effective way to update your lighting needs.

I have used Govee light strips for my TVs in the past and they worked great so when it came time to update my living room lights which used retro fittings I thought why not get color changing ones to help set the mood for movies. Upon seeing these I jumped on the purchase since they were at a good price compared to more expensive ones from other brands. Install was very easy literally unscrewed the old led retro lights which used metal clips to hold them in place so seeing that these govee ones used a metal fin I was a bit skeptical that they would hold in place but since the install I’ve had them in a few weeks now and neither of them look like they are falling out at all, I even tug on them every now and again but they are very secured in place so just follow the instructions and you will be fine. Adding the lights on the app was very easy thanks to how Govee designed the app, adjusting the colors are also easy and you can even group them together to make simultaneous adjustments at the same time. The only thing I will add that is a bit annoying is that the lights tend to lose wifi connection so it takes a few seconds for them to come up on the app again which delays being able to adjust the lights but a minor inconvenience. Over all I’m happy with these lights and I may look into purchasing another set for another room.

The lights are okay, but I wouldn't buy them again. I have one that refuses to connect to the internet, so I have to connect to it via Bluetooth anytime I want to change the color. I have another one that was in the soffit working. One of the metal flanges/wings that hold it into the housing broke off and now the light won't stay in the housing. I reached out to customer support and they told me put the unit in boiling water to see if it was calibrated correctly. What?!?!? I was very hopeful to test this product, be happy with it and the. Purchase other Govee products, but that won't happen unless their customer support will send me a replacement for the 2 lights. Definitely unsatisfied at this time.

Used these to replace white recessed can lights in preparation for holiday lighting, in this case Halloween. When not an holiday season, I will change back to white. Easy to install. All working. Govee app software is very well done. Pairing is easy. You ask to add a device while near the light you are installing with the power recently turned on and the app finds it and gives you the chance to name it. You can also group sets of lights together so they behave the same. Easy to change colors.

These are fantastic. I'm a pretty big Govee-phile. Lost count of the different products I have acquired. Some of their items can be overpriced a bit. I joke that they just make up a number and see if people will pay it. HOWEVER, these lights are worth every penny. If you have existing recessed/can lighting these are the perfect upgrade. Alexa-compatibility is a great bonus. You can control them individually or as a group. Pretty much any color you can think of. I have 20 of these lights. Super-easy to install. Just remove the existing light, screw in the cord, plug in the light and push it into the hole. Done. Setup in the app is just as quick. Before, if we wanted to leave the kitchen light on, there were 4 lights burning at full brightness. Now we can just have one light at whatever brightness and/or color we want!! Great product. Just make sure you get the right size (4" vs 6") and the right version (these are for existing lighting. They also have lights for new lighting installs).

These lights are a really good value compared to Philips Hue. They fit into existing recessed light housing and plugged in with the E26. The clips that hold the lights in aren’t that great to deal with and it was really hard to flush the lights into the recessed housing. The lights are bright especially the whites (cool and warm). However, the colours are a bit dim and not as rich. Overall for the price, they are a good value.
