Sorry. **Q: Is this pretty firm or is it ‘squishy’? I need to get one for my dog’s rehab but I’m not sure what to expect** A: This is a very good piece of equipment for basic exercises for your dog's rehab. You want it to be 'squishy' to help the dog improve proprioception and strength. There is a white plug on the side that allows one to add or remove air to the desired amount. If the disc is to firm, the dog will not get the benefit of the exercise. Keep out of direct sunlight and store flat [you do not have to remove the air] There are some excellent videos on You Tube about correct usage. [I have been rehabbing dogs for over 15 years and also use the disc for show dogs and to teach confidence]. **Q: Is this more heavy duty material than the less expensive ones made for humans?** A: Yes, it's quite heavy duty. I have the human balance discs in smaller sizes, and the material is much lighter in feel. **Q: does it take a standard pin for inflation** A: Yes- the typebthatvfills a basketball. This is a very good product and really helped my dog's rehab after a spinal injury.
