Strong flavour but lots of pieces were VERY stringy
Ginger is a fibrous root, so you do expect to see this in the crystallised form. However, I found a lot of VERY stringy pieces in the packets which makes them hard to cut cleanly if you want smaller pieces. Several of these were also very hard. (I cut crystallised ginger into small pieces and add a few each time I have a bowl of muesli - the occasional bit of ginger adds an enjoyable 'hit'). The flavour is strong and some pieces are distinctly fiery. The sugar used to coat them is unusually gritty - much more so, than say, coarse demerara. So, on balance I just about award 3 stars, but had Amazon allowed half points, it would have been 2.5

why has it changed
I have ordered this product many times and always been so pleased with the large chunks of ginger but this last order came and they are tiny bits no good for me I have to use four small bits to one of the size I am used to.so sorry you have changed ginger size will purchase elsewhere now.

Sorted out my nausea!
Worked for my nausea, snd that’s what I bought it for.Good size packet, with resealable top.Perhaps a bit more sugary than I was expecting (I think I’ve have dried more than crystallised before) but I think it worked better than the dried version.I’ll use it in my apple cake mix next time I get baking, too.I chopped up the larger chunks, but overall good product.

Item was purchased for a friend going through chemo to help with the nausea ,she was very pleased with it

good value for money better of getting a lage bag,,,,very small jars in supermarket and expensive worth paying the extra for large bag,,,,dont last long when opened, ha!,,,would always buy again!

Grandma's favourite
This is a Christmas treat for my Nan, who was reminiscing that she never saw crystallised ginger any more and when she was a girl, she always had it for Christmas.

Nothingi dislike about it, its great for digestive problems being elderly it helps with certain foods i tend to eat .

Tastes great. Big chunks and a big bag. Yummy
I bought this primarily to chop up and put into chocolate (I make my own) and it works very well. Nice big chunks of ginger to get hold of. I have tried a piece just on its own too, very lovely. Good to eat to settle any heartburn, since ginger is good for it. Would recommend
