This quick release plate is very versatile and well thought out accessory. It's essentially an arca swiss style quick release plate with 4 holes at the corners making it compatible with peak design (or any other brand as far as I can tell) shoulder straps. It's symmetrical so it doesn't matter how you put it on the camera, or tripod, whatever way is fine. Once locked in the tripod head there are 4 little pins (1 on each side) - out of which 2 you can push down securing the load further. If you were to undo the clasps while the ball head is not tightened properly the camera would fall down if not for these pins. So it's a good idea to engage them every time. You can leave them engaged continuously, but then the symmetry is gone, but you don't have to remember doing this every time. The choice is given, which is great. People prefer different things. My only complaint would be the price, £21 is a bit steep for a piece of metal I think, but it's a really good product that can potentially save your equipment that could easily cost your hundreds if not thousands £.

Very good quality quick release plate from Neewer made from good materials and feels solid this will last a long time if treated correctly.I have been using this for over two months now and it does its job and does it very well it is lightweight and small which I personally found perfect it means I can attach it to my camera and leave it connected due to its small size I am not finding it getting in the way of my hands or feeling uncomfortable when using the camera it has mostly stayed on my camera for the two months solid.The top of the plate has a rubber like pad so it won’t scratch the bottom of your camera, and it is also anti slip BUT as you screw it to the bottom of your camera securely, I am not sure of the need of the anti slip pad but it gives your camera that bit of extra protection.Overall I am very happy with the quick release plate, I do feel it is slightly overpriced BUT I would still recommend it.

A very well made 38mm quick release plate.This thing is really built to last, with quality you'd have faith in when mounting your expensive camera equipment.I've had cheaper plates in the past (used for cameras and telescopes) which have done the job OK, but this Neewer is in a different league.Yes it appears 'expensive for what it is', but the old adage 'buy cheap.. buy twice' really does apply to specialised equipment like this.Recommended for those who want quality... 5-Stars.
