After having read and absolutely LOVED Nero I couldn't wait for King! This book immediately became one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I started counting down the days and once I got to dive back into the Alliance world, I had to devour this bad boy in one sitting. I loved King with all my heart!I've been so curious about King, our man with his universal key ways and was absolutely ecstatic to learn his book was next! Back to The Alliance I went.King and Savannah's journey had me utterly hooked from beginning to end! Savannah is at her friend's house with a guy she's been seeing and discovers he's married. It's there her world collides with King's and when Savannah witnesses something she shouldn't have, King kidnaps her. As Savannah is thrust into the darkness and forced to marry King, will she escape? Or will the heart want what it wants?King is sin personified and I am forever addicted!Right from the memorable moment King and Savannah meet to how they are brought closer together than ever, I was glued to these two and their story from start to finish! Savannah is an artist and her passion shines throughout this story. I so admired her love for her art and her fighting spirit. I related to her on so many deep levels that got to me. King is part of The Alliance and his world isn't for the faint of heart. Red flags and all, I loved how determined King was when it came to Savannah and how there was more to this man than meets the eye.I didn't know how Savannah and King would tackle the situation they were in, their marriage, and every emotion they drew from each other and that had me even more invested in their story. I was on edge all throughout reading. I loved the sides King and Savannah brought out in one another and how they didn't back down. These two could make any ice cube turn into an absolute puddle with how they set fire to my kindle! 🥵 Without a doubt some of the most unique steamy moments I've ever read!From the thoughtfulness and heart to the dark and relatable, this story brought it all and then some! King is a heart stealer and so is Savannah! Just like Nero and Payton, King and Savannah have left their mark on my heart. Also, I so want to be King's Baby. 😍Sometimes life can surprise you and lead someone your way that gets your soul, from the messy, dark, the beautiful, and everything in between and that was shown in spades through King and Savannah's story.There were so many parts that I highlighted, but here are just some of my favorite quotes -"Life is way more fun when you just let yourself feel and don't bother with psychoanalyzing every moment to death.""And because the world needs your art.""Like there's something connecting my chest to his. A tangible string I swear I could touch if I tried.""Savannah is your match.""My King."Being back in The Alliance world and getting to reunite with my favorites thrilled this book loving heart of mine to no end! Also, I adored Duke and what the other characters brought to the story!With King, Ms.Tilly has outdone herself with this unputdownable, absolutely unforgettable, and orginal dark mafia read! From the depth, the twisted, humor, heat, and every bit of feels it all made for one addictive journey I couldn't get enough of! Once again, She knocked the darkness right of the park! Another top read of 2023 for me and a new favorite! ❤Such a fantastic addition to The Alliance world! This author and her books continue to make me fall even more in love with reading than I already am. If you haven't checked out her work, you must change that this year!Be sure to read the author's content warning and get ready for all of King's red flags. 😏🚩

I liked so much about this book. This is the first book I've read from this author, so I don't know her typical writing style.I found the beginning of the book original and interesting. The way all the characters are set up, meeting the wife of a guy you go out with and end up with her brother, deserves credit for how hilarious it was. Every character in the book, including the extra-smart dog named Duke, was absolutely brilliant. This book takes the possessive, jealous main hero to the next level, and his name is King :) The choice of name adds to the fun.Mafia books are usually dark, or at least they try to be. This is something I've criticized in other books where mean and dark heroes are described in words but not in their actions. In contrast, this book portrays violence loudly and graphically. Broken arms just for manhandling his women? Sure thing, and don't forget to leave the city before you end up dead. Sending ex-boyfriends of his new wife to Alaska? Why not? Considering his violent side, it's somewhat ridiculous how he turns soft around Savannah.I also liked Savannah. She was a self-isolated artist thrown into the mess of the mafia world. Her fascination and yearning to be understood and accepted felt real and solid. She didn't become annoying and didn't make foolish decisions, yet she showed enough backbone to hold her dangerous husband in her palm.Finally, I found the spicy scenes refreshing. There was something different from the usual spanking and other variations of BDSM kink, which, in my opinion, are overused and sometimes out of place in romance books.The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the second epilogue. I could have done without it, and it would have left me with a better aftertaste from this book.

I love the way their story unfolded, King and Savannah’s. It was funny and drama filled and dangerous and sad and Awesome.I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to the next one.

Well here we are again because the first book Nero made me curious about the MmC of this book. You need to suspend ALL of your disbelief to on the plot of this book. There’s some decent spice in this book but when I tell you it’s a cuckoo plot it’s an Alice will never be the same in wonderland weird. That said did I like some it? Yes. Do I recommend? Not really. Check the trigger warnings carefully. Violence, violence against women and spicy.

Funny and sexy and I absolutely love Savannah and King!!! Even more than I loved Nero!! A must read if you enjoy that type of book!!!

I thought I fell in love with Nero, but then I don't know how to define how much I loved this book with King and Savannah. Loved it, and everything about it. There were SO many pages I literally laughed out loud. Perfection.

I absolutely loved this book. There is something so enticing and so incredible swoony, not to mention dreamy about the way these males love their women. I edited my first review for Nero’s book because I couldn’t leave out the fact, that he loved Payton just the way she was and how special it was. King, is just the same. These books have plus sized FMC’s as the leads and the author does such an incredible job at writing their insecurities while at the same time writing these men who literally worship the ground they walk on. I love it. King falls head over heels for Savannah and it was written so well.Sure this book is dark but, it’s filled with romance and love. Is there murder? Yes. Is there kidnapping? Yes. But, there’s also found family and a HEA. I can’t wait for book 3 and I highly recommend this series so far!

I would bow down and do anything for you my big , broody , possessive , hot hunk of a man !All jokes aside , this was my favorite book of the series ! I absolutely loved King , how controlling and possessive he was . And what he does for her when he finds out her past ? Also how easy it was to fall in love with him regardless of his actions . And Savannah was one kick ass FMC , she was hilarious and I absolutely loved her ! I would have done the same things if I were in her situation and she had me laughing out loud numerous times . I also love the curvy representation in these books . It’s nice to know that not all fictional men love popsicle sticks ! Writing was amazing and it was so easy to fly through . If you’re looking for men you’ll be obsessed with and a great mafia series , the alliance men are for you .

This plot is unbelievable but I can tell you it worked. And worked perfectly. The story was captivating and the action was well placed.King is a walking and talking red flag 🚩Savannah is an artist, a painter, with few friends. She craves for family and connection but always felt very alone.With this forced proximity/kidnapping “thing” 😂 she founds in King everything she wanted the most.The way King worshiped her was delicious to read, the kink stuff is not for everybody so check the triggers, but if it’s for you, you’ll love thaaaaaat much 🥵.But I need to say the truly hero in this book is called Duke: this dog stoled my heart for good 🖤. I’m a goner for dogs, every book with them will get 5⭐️ from me!

Another excellent book from the alliance series. They are a HEA and follow through connecting the characters. The stories merge seemlessly and the flow of the time line is soon good. Looking forward to the next.

Vielleicht hätte ich es besser gefunden, wenn ich nicht zuerst Band 4 gelesen und dadurch einen Vergleichswert gehabt hätte, kann ich schwer sagen, es hat mich einfach nicht überzeugt. Die Charaktere sind blass, Handlung nahezu nicht vorhanden und Kontext nur angerissen.Und auch wenn ich es eine angenehme Abwechslung finde, dass die "Heldin" kein jungfräuliches Model unter 20 ist, ist das Konstrukt im Großen und Ganzen Standardklischee - er reicher Sexgott, besitzergreifender Beschützer mit overkill-Tendenz (sorry, aber wie nervig wäre es, wenn unsere realen Ehemänner jedes Mal nen Anfall kriegten, wenn wir uns mit einem männlichen Wesen unterhalten?) und sie ein austauschbares Geilchen (ob jetzt "plus-size" oder "size zero" macht doch da echt keinen Unterschied) dem man eine Besonderheit zuteilt (in diesem Fall das Malen). Mal ehrlich, sie verschwindet von der Bildfläche und NIEMAND vermisst sie. Sie hat abgesehen von ihrer Kunst kein nennenswertes Leben geführt, bis sie glücklicherweise einen Mord beobachtet hat. Passt für sie auch, weil der Psycho ja reich ist, gut aussieht und Dreibeiner ist. Toll.Da findet kein Kennenlernen statt, kein Knistern, kein Aufreiben. Gut, dass das Herz in der Vagina sitzt.Und ein wahres Aushängeschild für body positivity, dass sie "curvy" ist (was auch immer das heißen mag, wenn man die Oberweite in Spaghettiträgerteilen und trägerlosen BHs in Form halten kann), aber er trotzdem der letzten GQ-Ausgabe entstiegen ist.Es lässt sich angenehm lesen, ich hab durchaus auch ein paar mal gelacht, aber mMn verpasst man auch nichts, wenn man es nicht liest, Plot war mehr, um die Abstände zwischen den Sexszenen zu überbrücken, also nicht sonderlich ausgefeilt, so erfährt man zum Beispiel nie, woher King wusste, dass sie in Chicago ist, obwohl sie das Auto gewechselt hat und so unmöglich irgendwie getrackt worden sein kann, ebensowenig wird der "Mann ohne Taschenlampe" jemals weiterverfolgt oder erklärt. Würde mich auch interessieren, wie mit all den nur durch Fingerabdruck zu öffnenden Türen, der Ire ins Haus und ins Schlafzimmer kam und ganz ohne Auslösen eines einzigen Alarms. Aber ohne das wäre halt abgesehen vom anfänglichen Mord im Buch halt echt gar nichts passiert. Bisschen faules Schreiben.

King and his queen are fierce, intimate and oh so romantic. The way they slowly build the connection despite the way they met, let us live on the edge with anticipation and finally give them the kind of marriage they deserve is awesome. Enjoyed reading this book!
