Q: would they fit a 18 inch saddle?

Yes, my boyfriend has a 17.5" saddle and it fits with some room to spare. One of the best shock absorption pads I have ever bought.

Q: Is it really squishy? Does it flatten really easily?

Not really squishy but confirms to saddle and horses back. I had mine over a year bought for a sore backed thoroughbred and he still loves it I ride close contact and feel connected when using it. It still feels as good as new

Q: How thick is this pad?

About a half inch and it is a pretty dense material.
