This little trash can operates extremely well! I was worried that where I put it in my bathroom (right below the paper roll on the wall) it would be constantly opening every time you reached for the paper, but it does not... You need to come within just a few inches of the sensor on top for it to activate. And you also have the option of tapping it with your foot to activate it if you don't want to, or can't, bend down - and it's a great value with the 2nd can included too! Very happy with it!

It works and is handy, I have yet to figure out what will make it open. It opens at my hand as I would hope but it sits in an alcove next to the fixture. With the door closed and the light out at night I hear it open and close on it's own. What's up with that???

Yes! Just like the other trash cans, I like them and had every intention on keeping them, but I looked up and there was my wife shaking her head, yea! I know, they’ve got to go, but I really like these, they open by there self, no she wouldn’t give in, so I had to send them back to! But I couldn’t see anything wrong with them, I’m just glad that Amazon will work with me on this situation, they are really good people, that work there, I am so thankful for their kindness and understanding, and determination, they tolerated a lot off me, yet they still helped me out, a great business model! Thanks

I got this waste basket for my bathroom and I absolutely love it!! Just wave your hand 6" or so above the basket and the lid pops open. After you pull your hand away, the lid closes a couple seconds later. You even get an extra waste basket to use elsewhere. It is definitely worth the price. I wish, however, that it came in other colors than just white.

Worked great for less than a year, then the top stopped opening up more than an inch or so. Replaced batteries, that wasn't it. It's pretty annoying to have an automatic trash can that barely opens and makes awful noises when you have to manually open the lid!
