Works.
Love it. Digital readout of PH helped me adjust my lawn treatment. Much better than a needle or dial PH meter. Be sure to calibrate and clean.

very dissappointing
When I first put this together I was able to calibrate and use it and use it to test water samples. After a month of storage ( with storage solution), I tried to use it again and the pH valve did not change regardless of solution. After a while of jiggling the probe (about an hour), and making sure the air bubbles were out, I was finally able to get the pH value to move. It seemed to work well after calibration so I just marked it us to user ignorance. This I made sure that the storage cup was full and stored the probe with the unit sitting upright. A few weeks later I tried to use it again and again there was no change on the meter. I was not able to revive it. I have given up. I don't like to give bad ratings but this pH meter is not reliable.

Tadeto model TE027 Digital Soil pH Tester is GREAT!!!
This Tadeto model TE027 Digital Soil pH Tester is easy to calibrate and use. I wish I had ordered the premade pH solutions, but it came with the powder packets (plus spares) that were easy to mix. I love being able to calibrate it and then test the calibration as well. I like the easy-to-read display and the hold feature, along with the lighted display if needed. I also appreciate that it has a metal sensor protector for inserting into the dirt, which is removable for easy cleaning. I also like that it uses standard AAA batteries. Overall, this is a great pH tester that I highly recommend.

I like the meter, It's a little involved the use, but it's necessary
I had tried cheap pH soil testing meters are several years. You know the ones with analog pointer. I never felt they gave accurate readings. (They always seemed to read about 6.5.) I have experienced very low yields in my acid loving fruits and berries. So I decided to splurge and get this digital meter. In order to use the meter it needs to be calibrated, which was a small annoyance. The instruction manual does not tell how long the calibration lasts. I did not know if it needed to be calibrated each time I took it out to use it, if a calibration would last for several months, or if the calibration dependent upon strength of Alkiline/Acid I was testing. I still don't know. It came with two packets of buffered powders to make standard pH4, pH7, and pH10 solutions. We made the solutions in drinking glasses, then threw hout the solutions. Next time I used the meter I did the calibration again, but it seemed like it had remained calibrated. But now I was out of calibration solution. I therefore purchased a calibration solution kit with five packets and plastic containers to preserve the fluid. It seems like the calibration has lasted a month, and it may last all season. Would be nice to know in the instructions how to determine when the meter needs to be recalibrated. Perhaps most important, is that I found my soil was slightly alkaline, so I added an acidifier to the soil in the quantity needed to raise the pH level by one. When I retested the soil, it had indeed improved from pH 7.4 to pH 6.3. This gives me a great deal of confidence that the meter is measuring soil pH accurately. I also found that I tap water was very alkaline, pH 8.9, that may be a significant reason I have been getting low yield on acid loving plants. Suspect I will have to add an acidifying supplement to my soil several times over the summer to counteract the high alkaline levels of the water. It gives me great joy to feel confident that my pH readings are accurate! Other gardeners beware. Recently water companies are making their water more alkaline in order to reduce corrosion in the water pipes. This is particularly true where there may be old lead pipes as alkaline water seems to leach less lead out of the pipes reducing the toxic lead consumption of consumers. Maybe great for people but it is probably bad for growing fruits and vegetables.

Works great and fast!
I've owner for 2 years. I use this one and my bluelab , which this one always reads exact reading that bluelab ph pen does. O yea, never calibrated this one since I bought and it still reads true. Maybe I got lucky but I'm believer in this pen

Important tool
Decided to “fine tune” my raspberry crop (lol 6 plants) this season. Needed to pH balance the soil but didn’t want to spend tons of money. This Tadedo worked perfectly for my non-professional needs & didn’t break the bank.

Cheap plastic, buy something better
The solution to keep the probe submerged in the cap acts like a glue even from the factory and breaks off the tip when opening. First one arrived broken, received a replacement which broke in the same place after used twice.

Poorly made, broke on second use
This product worked great for the first use and I would have rated it 4 stars. However, upon the second use as I unscrewed the protective cap that keeps the tip moistened, the threads at the base broke off from the meter. It is past the return period, so I am stuck. Cheaply made, should not have broken that easily!
