Great alternative to mason jars!
The glass containers are easy to clean and easy to mix in - much easier than mason jars! They are a little thinner than I anticipated, but are holding up well to pretty heavy use. The cloth covers were a little snug and had to be finessed a bit to get them on, but once they were on they worked great. Thermometer stickers have held up through multiple dishwashings. Included bench knife is heavy duty and great addition to the kit. Would buy again!

No spatulas or dough cutter were included in the shipment
I am delighted with the 34 oz jars, which will be far easier to feed, stir and clean than the 1 qt Ball canning jars I've been using for my sourdough starters. The wooden lids with silicon washers fit tightly, the thermometers, day minder bands, and fabric hoods are fine. I actually purchased two sets of these, for a total of 4 jars, and in one set the two spatulas and dough cutter were not included. May have been a fluke, or possibly the set was returned to Amazon for credit as new and unused, but was actually incomplete. The spatulas and dough cutter are outside of the jars on one end of the foam pads that protect the jars. Since you have to remove the foam pads to get the jars out, so it's unlikely they'll be overlooked.

The canvas covers don’t allow the airborn yeasts to get into the starter mixture.
I tried twice to get my starter to get the airborn yeasts to grow but it didn’t. I’m thinking the canvas cover is too dense to allow them to get to the starter mixture. I do like having the two jars so I can clean one, then switch jars so the jar doesn’t get two crusty. The band is helpful to track the feedings and to see if the starter is growing. The thermometer strip isn’t really needed. And I like the silicone spatulas for cleaning the sides of the jar, but it doesn’t work to well to stir the feedings.

Great product for beginners
Comes with a lot of handy utensils. I love the size of the jars. My starter has been doing great in this.

Decent set
This is a decent set. It was missing some pieces but I reached out to the seller and they were happy to send them. I'm looking forward to making my first sourdough recipe with this set once my cookbook arrives.
