Nice motor works very well no need to spend all that money on Mercury, Yamaha,ect. Wish it comes with a electric starter. Works well so far this fall.

Outboard came almost a week earlier than expected. Motor started on the second pull and runs perfectly. MAKE SURE YOU ADD LOWER UNIT OIL. The motor came with none and no warning about it. Fortunately I checked it before running it. This is the only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars. Great motor for the price.

For the amount of money you pay for this outboard you can't beat this price i am in the break in period drove it about 4 hours stright iv had this item in my wishlist for awhile and was on the defense about buying it but I couldn't be more happier with this purchase I highly recommend anyone it pushes my 16 foot aluminum boat really well it's not no speed demon but I am able to get on plain .I hope eventually they will add more selections cuz I would have liked to get 30 hp or 25 hp to push my boat even better I would buy from this seller again and will of they add more hp selection I had zero issues setting this up they included a manual witch is very helpful. Lastly this isn't and actually 18hp it's a 15 hp witch is still pretty decent for the money.i will update this review upon after completing break in so far it's a solid bang for your buck Edit after break in period: still running nice and good as it should got me through a couple of shady rain storms/wind storms during the summer right now its currently in the garage until winter is over but I have well over 300 hours of runtime on this alone i have seen a 40 hp that I may end up buying on Amazon just because it can push my boat better on really windy days but this 18hp hasn't failed yet no parts broken 10/10 I would buy this again.

I’m running this engine on my 9’ RIB and all I can say is wow. Starts on first pull every time. Top speed of 24 mph but on that little boat it feels much faster. If your sitting the fence on buying one… get off the fence and pull the trigger. You won’t be disappointed.

Have had this motor for the past year. Initially the motor arrived with a broken keel and I should have returned it but they sent me a replacement lower housing. So what’s wrong with this motor? Aside from the shipping, the parts on this motor are super cheap. After a few months, the gas lines and connections failed. The carb was gummed up and would not run right. The plastic part like pull handle gets your hand completely black from the cheap rubber, same as throttle handle. Metal parts have started rusting badly. Yes I’m using is Florida salt water. Got another gas line and while it’s not from this seller that one only lasted a couple months and it complexly fell apart also. Now after a year the gas tank has cracks around the gas lid assembly and gas is leaking. Took it out yesterday and it as running great and all the sudden it would not start no matter what. Luckily was not to far from docks and limped back on the trolling motor. Should have never purchase this motor as it’s been nothing but a Chinese piece of junk. Maybe it’s ok on fresh water and continuous maintenance.

Product was ok at best upon arrival. I followed the manual and put it together as instructed. I took it out within a week of arrival to test it out. when I took it out, the motor worked all of five minutes and started to overheat and then started stalling. after drifting down stream for a while and cursing, I was finally able to get it started again after it cooled down. I wrote the manufacturer about my issues and spoke to their engineering team and they were not able to help me fix it after several communications. After attempting several fixes to no avail, I asked for a refund in which case they told me I was outside of their refund or replacement. I also informed them I'm I’m a traveling service technician so I practically live on the road and so it would be between jobs that I could troubleshoot the motor. I would just warn anyone in advance that if they have issues and they are not solved within a timely manner that they will not honor their warranty or replacement even if it was within a week of the issues being noticed I purchased this in June and it is October and as I said, I have owned the product less than six months, but the issues was within a week and notified within a week of having the product. Amazon would not do anything as this is a third-party even with the A-to-Z warranty because I am outside of their return even with the issues having started within a week of purchase, but I am still in communications with them trying to see if I can get a refund.

These outdoor Motors are the expired older versions of the Yamaha 15 horse the book itself tells you the 18 horse is actually a 15 horse but there's nothing wrong with these outboards cranks first pull every time runs great dependable best outboard you can buy for the money

Came with broken air filter box customer support wasn't very helpful on getting a replacement but over all the motor works like it should put it on my american 12 John boat does 8mph
