Easy to fit, and from what i can tell it does take out the cimical

very good replacement for pond filtered water .
bought to replace last years filter, very good pond top up at advised run rate.

Gave the water a chemical smell
Installed ran the water for 20mins draining off and could smell something, left it for an hour so water had time to fully soak the filter. Ran some more off and could still smell an odd smell to the water, now put about 50litres through this filter straight from the mains now, still has a smell. When I test the water it's on a really slow flow rate but sill I can smell something in the water. I have now removed the filter from the system and I am awaiting a different brand to arrive, I smell the water now without the filter in and the smell I can smell is gone. I may have had a faulty filter but I'm glad I tested it before I just turned it on. Won't buy this one ever again. I have now installed a different brand and that one has no strange smell and I tasted the water and was completely fine. Don't buy these filters!
