Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook 9th Edition

I am a pharmacist who has worked in the largest veterinary hospital in the country and I can easily say that Plumbs is the go to resource for medication choice and dosing. I find it has thorough descriptions of conditions and treatment options. This is extremely important for pharmacists who are working the veterinary field who may not be as familiar with the mg/kg dosing in animals. It breaks down each medication for various species as well, which again is of utmost importance for verifying dosing of all medications. I cant say much more than the book has everything you could possibly need to know, only issue being it is the written book, so updates the website and app would have for new drugs or new information are only going to be in the next edition of the book. Overall, I think this is a necessity for those working in the veterinary field and is a fantastic resource for any and all treatment information.Pros:-Thorough-Various species covered-Easy to read and understandCon:-Updates that the app or website would have obviously will not be in this book. Pretty much what you need on your way becoming a veterinarian (like me) its super informative and gives dosages, what animals can take, side effects, and lots others you didn't think of. It even says about previous studies on the drugs which gives more knowledge. The pages are a bit thin but also feel sturdy. Hefty book and it does have a bit of a smell to it. A few flips periodically through the week and it should subside.

Bought when I realized the $20/yr student app pricing increases to $900/yr for graduates. Lol. Love Plumbs but that is insane; I'll take the $100 book and add some sticky notes! This book is big and heavy, but high-quality. Pages are thin like a bible's. Pleased overall.

I needed this book for school and lucky its a small book that I can easy carry around. Does have very good information of all the veterinary drugs.

Llego en excelentes condiciones, antes de la fecha estipulada y muy satisfecha en todos los aspecto. Conozco el libro y se que es excelente. Lo único que no me percaté fue el tamaño porque siempre vi el de bolsillo y al pedir este pensé que era uno más grande pero no tanto. Esto no me incómodo sólo me sorprendió pero esto facilita mucho más la lectura. Gracias nuevamente por el excelente servicio. Muy contenta y encantada con el libro.

Been using Plumb's books for 30 years when they use to be a little orange spiral bound one (I still have it!)! Best book for vet drugs. Very complete and offers different dosages depending on various sources which is helpful.

Un libro con información muy valiosa que proporciona soporte importante a médicos veterinarios y especialistas sobre todo en cirugía. Todo muy en orden, el libro llegó intacto, en perfecto estado y me lo entregaron personalmente. Lo único que sugeriría mejorar es el tiempo que parece prolongado desde que se hace el pedido hasta que se recibe en el domicilio pero en general todo excelente

Excellent reference book for any veterinary library, big or small.

El libro es genial. Pero si volviera atrás en el tiempo no lo compraría. Es la versión grande y de tapas duras, es precioso. Pero ocupa mucho sitio y pesa, por lo que no lo vas a llevar de casa al trabajo, y del trabajo a casa. Existe la app, con el mismo nombre. Al crear la cuenta te permite acceder online desde cualquier dispositivo, y desde la app del móvil. Funciona con iPhone. Es cómoda, intuitiva, y puedes copiar y pegar en el traductor si tienes problemas con el inglés. Permite guardar en favoritos los fármacos que más utilizas, y añadir notas en cualquier fármaco. Tiene un buscador para localizar los fármacos. Lo más importante: se actualiza periódicamente, y siempre la llevas encima. Ojo la app también es de pago. En mi opinión si vas a pagar por el libro, te recomiendo que compres la app.Le doy las 5 estrellas porque el libro en sí vale mucho la pena.
