Want to start your car like you're piloting a mech? Now is your chance!!
This is a totally geek/nerd-tastic item; cover your car start button with a geeky flip cap straight out of some Mecha anime.I wanted something to cover my start button, because the intrusive thoughts in my head kept saying "What if you bump into the button while on the highway?" or "Go ahead. Push it while driving. Push it. Puussssshhhh it". So I started looking up start button covers, and saw these, and good golly, my starship/robot piloting fantasy just got a little bit better. The button attaches with some strong adhesive that goes around the button. It sticks to the . . . plastic rim, and not to the dashboard (dashboards are made with some kind of non-adhesive plastic these days). So far it feels pretty secure, although I'm only a few days in. As long as the adhesive holds, this is pretty damn awesome.Push the lower lever and the cover snaps up. Once the car has started, push the cap back down and it is ready to open again.I love the color. I love the font and graphics. It tickles that nerdy lobe in my brain and now I can feel like I'm about to turn on my mecha. What's not to love??!?I will update this over time in regards to the adhesive bond.

Looked cool but came apart quickly
Unfortunately the side brackets came lose shortly after installing it so I couldn't close it without holding the sides out. I ended up tossing it after a week. Looked cool, just fell apart almost immediately.

Very cool
Bought this for my Jeep Gladiator. It comes with three adhesive rings (which worried me from the start - why 3?). I tried one, and it lasted about 30 minutes. Coincidentally, the seller sent me a "how do you like our product" email right after that. I explained the issue while trying adhesive ring #2. It failed, and the seller immediately sent me a replacement with hopes that it would work better. So, from a customer service standpoint, AMAZING. The 2nd taping failed w/in about 10 minutes. BUT, i think the problem is two-fold. If you DON'T have a Gladiator, and the ring around your start button is just part of the dash, you will probably have no issues. This is not 3M adhesive, but on normal dash plastic it probably works just fine. Unfortunately, the button on the Gladiator is surrounded w/ some weird rubber material, and the tape has no answer for that. A few days later I received the new cover (same adhesive rings, but very cool packaging I must add). Luckily I had some 3M 94 primer left over from another item and I gave that a shot. The 3rd adhesive ring has lasted a week!! Regardless, the cover is quite slick, and the customer service was impeccable. Highly recommended, but just know that you might have to improvise when it comes to sticking it!

Looks cool but wasn't completely put together.
Works good, however one of the side screws were loose and one side rattled while driving.

Most Likely a Good Product...
This product is likely a good product, and I really only had one issue arise that may or may not have been caused by the product itself. Before I get into the meat and potatoes of this review, let me preface everything by stating that "I'm an Idiot!". Now that that's out of the way, I'll explain why I purchased one, where I went wrong selecting this specific button cover (not the product's fault), and what issues I had with this product that led me to immediately uninstall the cover within minutes of initially installing it.I recently (October 2023) purchased a 2020 Mustang Ecoboost. This was my first vehicle with this feature, and my only real experience using a Push Start was when I occasionally moved my Dad's Nissan Murano. Well, within a month of operating my Mustang as a daily driver, I was coasting through a shopping center parking lot after getting lunch and went to turn off the heater and instead hit the Push Start and shut the car off instead (I'm an idiot). After slightly freaking out that I couldn't get the car to start back up, I realized that I had to push down the break pedal (and possibly put the car in park; can't really remember the specifics) and finally I was able to take the Drive-of-Shame back to work. One thing was on my mind, however; and it was that I needed to see if they made some type of cover for the push start buttons so that I wouldn't get accustomed to shutting my car off in the midst of driving (thank God I wasn't on the interstate...).After doing about 3 seconds of scrolling on Amazon, I saw this magnificent red button cover that I thought looked cool and would add to the appearance of red covers for the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. I thought to myself, "These look kind of large; I don't know if they will fit my push start button with the limited space around it", so I bought it anyway because why not, they look cool.Fast forward a couple of days, I have received them and finally its time to start transitioning the interior of my car to the "Exhibit of Bad-Ass Red Colored Accessories that Serve No Actual Purpose" that I had been dreaming about for 3-5 days. Well... the button didn't fit. That wasn't the manufacturer's fault, but was the fault of your typical moron who would buy something that obviously won't work as intended, just because it looks cooler than alternatives that will work as intended. To give myself a little credit, I did get it to kind-of fit, though it was shifted ~1/8" to the left of where it was supposed to be centered on the button, and it was forced to be at a slight angle as it pushed against the plastic piece that separates the push start button from the adjacent buttons on the dash.Unfortunately, I had to immediately uninstall it due to it tripping up the values displayed on my HUD for current battery voltage. Typically at this time, my heads-up display would display a value within the range of 13.9 V - 14.5 V (most often around 14.2-14.5 V). Well, after installing the button cover the values were erratic and began jumping from as low as 8.0V to 12V, down to 6V, up to 14V, etc. I don't know if the material was magnetic and if so, if it was close enough to trigger my sensor. The button itself isn't really near the battery location, so it may have triggered a sensor or something that transmits the data displayed on the HUD. I'm not sure. This is why I don't want to outright blame the product for this issue, as it likely works fine in most other vehicles. I haven't read of a similar issue from another review just yet, so I'll accept that the item just wasn't a match for my Mustang. It's probably fine to install if it fits your vehicle. It looks cool as hell, so why not...TLDR: I'm an idiot. I did something stupid, and my solution was to do something else stupid. The product didn't fit, but it looked cool. It messed with the values for Battery Voltage displayed on my HUD so I took it off. It probably won't mess with your vehicle's though. For those that read most of, some of, or just kind of glanced at the above "wall of text", thank you for reading/glancing and eye-rolling, and I apologize for taking four minutes (or seconds) of your life that would've absolutely been more productive or enjoyable doing something else. Anyways, have a good one. Peace!

Button cover fun..
Quirky and fun. Much better quality than I thought. Sticky "ring" to attach the button cover is EXTREMELY sticky and easy to mess up. VERY EASY. Maybe an alternative should be looked at. Otherwise perfect fit!!
