SNUNGPHIR Brother DS-740D Duplex Compact Mobile Document Scanner

I have good experience with previous Brother products, and this scanner, fortunately, was no exception. Decent quality of scanned documents, good scan speed, easy setup (macOS Catalina), and intuitive operation.

Easy to set up and use. Duplex works well, though maximum scanning resolution is 1200dpi. I have scanned business cards, receipts, insurance cards, regular 8.5" by 11" paper, as well as oddly sized flyers and birth certificates, and all scanned perfectly. (8.5" wide is likely the maximum, though Brother claims receipts up to 72" long can be scanned) There is a flip up guide if you don't want the scanned document to fall out of the back of the scanner. Nitpicks: Sometimes positioning the document for scanning can be a bit fiddly and the scanner indicates a paper jam, but this is easily solved by removing the document and unplugging the USB cable. Once you reinsert the cable, the jam is cleared. I do wish the included USB A to Micro-USB 3.0 cable was a bit longer. None of the nitpicks above are cause to remove a star, because the scanner works better than expected. I used the supplied scanning software as well as NAPS2 Portable on Windows 11 without any trouble. I haven't tried using the scanner with Linux or MacOS. Color quality is excellent. In some cases the scanned file was easier to read than the original document (birth certificate). This is a single sheet feed scanner. If you have a need for automatic feeding of multiple documents, or scanning 11"x14" paper, this isn't the scanner you want. If you need a fast, portable, simple to use scanner you can bring in a briefcase or backpack, this is a great option. I did buy a hardshell case to carry the scanner/cable.

El producto vino bien sellado y empacado. El tamaño me sorprendió pese a que sabía que era pequeño. Funciona muy bien, aunque de vez en cuando detecta que se ha atascado papel, pero con desconectar y volver a conectar se resuelve el problema. Excelente calidad de escaneado. Para el uso que yo le iba a dar, me parece adecuado: escaneo poco volumen de hojas en mi home office. Me encanta que por su tamaño, se puede llevar a cualquier lado donde pueda conectarlo a una laptop. Estoy muy contenta con mi compra. :)

I have a single sided version of this at work, and it's a workhorse. I was thrilled to see a duplex version. Being a genealogy nerd, the duplex version is very handy. No troubles - highly recommend.
