it will deliver the complete package
Fantastic printer it does everything unfortunately for me I need help with its features. may be there is a manual for it here somewhere as I need to know its true capabilities. I run a small holiday let company and it certainly keeps up.I do highly recommend it and anyone buying one should know it does pretty much well does everything I just haven't quite got my head around it yet. if the support guys read this I would really appreciate a little of there time to go a little further.

Do not buy this printer
Shop around, don't buy this model. It has failed on us 5 times in the year we've had it. Eventually the engineer came out and had to replace the laser. This was all fine while it was on warranty. It's now over it's year warranty (wow 1 year!! The lifetime warranty comes with so many clauses it's a joke) and it's broken down again. Xerox want £366 to come and 'look' at it. The thing only cost £500.

Great quality and features
So far so good. Much improved quality and speed over my previous Brother printer/copier. User interface and features are much better.Had an issue with the original toners not being recognised but Xerox replaced them quickly. My only doubt is the cost/life of toner. The packs are very small and lightweight.

Reliable, fast and functional
Despite the negative review left, I have one f these printers and I have been impressed by how good it is, it wakes and prints from LAN quickly. The print quality has always been excellent and the toner lasts ages. The user interface is great on the printer and the web interface is also very straightforward.I use gmail for my SMTP server to scan and email and have had no issues with this ever. And colour for normal printing is superb. I have no complaints at all.I am about to replace my Xerox C405DN with another C405DN. Sadly the former was damaged in transit recently, so the fact that I am about to buy another of the same model, which will be a first for me because usually I don't, is saying something. Thanks for reading this review.

terrible after sales and warranty support
EXTREMELY BAD - do not buy; I bought a versalink printer 1 year 3 weeks ago and sheet broke. Also bought over £ 1,000 in toner to maintain warranty. When I called Xerox to get a repair I was sent from Pillar to post and after a week eventually told that as one year had passed printer was out of warranty As for spending over £1,000 on toner I was told this did not extend the warranty because toner had to be bought within 6 month before end of the warranty and extended warranty had to be registered on website before expiry of warranty. UNBELIEVABLY BAD

Dreadful print quality and Xerox support
The printer prints with a slant of 3mm so nothing we print can be used for customer facing documents.MS Word table shading has a pronounced halo just inside each cell and reproduces with the same quality of a badly photocopied piece of paper. We though we had a fault so called the Xerox service engineer, who after inspecting the machine said that it was within specification (3mm is acceptable and MS word uses RGB so the machine cannot recreate shading accurately). Therefore they would not take it back.So the verdict. If you use MS office to create documents do not buy this printer. it's double the cost of an HP and nowhere near as good. If you want printing to be straight you are better looking elsewhere.

Good printer let down by abysmal UI and support
The C405 series are clearly good quality printers presenting good value for money, and (in theory) good print quality and functionality... that is, if you can get it to work. Unfortunately they are spectacularly let down by diabolical software and support. The issues I've encountered are:- colour reproduction. Printers are supplied with Xerox colour correction on by default. This makes prints look vivid and colourful, but reproduces most colours very inaccurately. I struggle to think of an application where this is going to be appropriate. If you are trying to print any business items which include a corporate colour scheme, many colours will be noticeably off. If you turn off the colour correction, you get very washed out prints. You can compensate by turning up saturation by +100% but there is clearly something deeply wrong here. I sent the first printer back and the second one was identical. Xerox support confirmed its the best the printer can do.- wake from sleep. Xerox has had issues with waking from sleep for years. All I can say is it hasnt solved them yet, despite assurances that a new software release has dealt with it.- Setup. Xerox support forum is littered with complaints from people unable to set up basic functionality like scan to file and scan to email. I haven't managed to do either. There is a near complete lack of usable info in the user guide and the error messages are unhelpful.- Support. Its simply awful, period. Repeated calls and visits to tackle the same problem, dealt with by different people with practically no progress on each one.
