Easy to use, does not cause warping of shoes/boots
Due to a mild winter I haven't had the chance to try these but they seem like they would at least help a little bit to prevent falls. I prefer these over the rubber ones that stretch over the full bottom of the shoe because those tend to warp the shoe. The fact that these just velcro around the middle of the foot saves a ton of wear and tear on the shoe however I'm concerned that since the traction is therefore condensed to only part of the foot, that it may not work as well.

Does the job!
Small but mighty! They do what they’re supposed to do without all the extra bulk. Now let me be clear. I used these for going from my house to the car, and from the car into work. If I have to be outside for awhile I use my YakTracs which cover the complete bottom of my boots. With this product I was able to avoid heavy snow boots and strap them on sneakers, leather uppers and such and they worked like a charm! Easy to wear and remove. I actually purchased more as gifts for my family. That’s how impressive these small but mighty gems are!

Minimalist. Do add traction. For short term, not long hikes
Crampon Traction Cleats Anti-Skid Traction GripsThese are two rubber rectangles, each with five shallow cleats. They strap around your shoes at the base of your toes. The hook-and-loop strap is fairly secure but will loosen on a long walk, and when tight will constrict your foot. These do not grip nearly as securely as the crampons that fit over the entire sole of your shoes; but then I fell several times learning to lift my feet properly when walking with those. These are lightweight, tiny to fit in a backpack, give you some traction for that icy walk to the car or down the front steps, but won’t grip so hard they trip you.Description says “The rubber is pulled from toe to heel, tightened firmly by fixing string, easy to install!”. I don’t understand what they are trying to say; nothing attaches to the toe or heel, and there is no string.Addendum: After a week in Iceland in February, temperatures never above freezing, I have more respect for these. I first tried the rubber full-foot spikes which stretch over both toe and heel, but they would fall off frequently when walking through snow over chunks of lava. This set, wrapped around my shoe at the base of my toes, stayed on reliably when walking on level ground or downhill. Walking uphill, they would gradually loosen, but tightening them again is much easier, just bend down and a quick tug, compared to standing on one foot to get the full-foot versions back on.I've added a star.

Great to have on hand for unexpected icy situations
Crampon Traction Cleats, January 2024These are great to have on hand for unexpected icy conditions, to do some quick shoveling, or to run out to the mailbox. They are easy to use and come with a little stuff sack, too.I would not plan to use these for any extended walking. Without traction under the heel, it's much to easy for your heel to slip before the ball of the foot has an opportunity to put enough weight on the spikes. For general walking, I recommend some full footed spikes. But these are great when that's too much trouble and unnecessary for short periods of time. They're also small enough to keep a set in your car just in case.On packed snow where the teeth bite easily, these feel OK. For hard ice where these don't sink all the way in, they raise the front of your foot almost a centimeter higher than your heel. That would get old fast if using them for too long.

Quick way to add some traction to shoes or boots – easy to put on or take off.
These G999 Traction Cleats are good for use on large waterproof boots. A “whole shoe” cleat would be bulky and difficult to slip on. These cleats are not quite as effective as larger crampons that have more surface area, but they are very convenient. They don’t stay on the ball of your foot as shown on the product page, usually they migrate toward the middle of the shoe or boot. But a cleat at that location still works pretty well, although it can get uncomfortable. I would not use these cleats on a long hike or for running, but they do come in handy for less demanding outdoor activities.

Crampon traction cleats for ice, snow and mud, for most shoe types and sizes.
These are very easy to use, and probably nicer for hands/wrists that hurt from carpel tunnel or arthritis. This option is easy to use- open up the strap, slide your foot in, cinch it down, and be ready to go. You only need to tighten them if they are not secure enough in place. Just pull as tight as you can, but not too tight it becomes uncomfortable to wear. Install on the widest part (between the arch and the ball of the foot) do not put it too close to the toe or it could come off.Comes in a tidy storage bag to keep them handy, in your car, or at the door when you go out. Having a few sets, and a spare in your vehicle might be a good idea for when the weather decides to change before you have had the chance to prepare. Great for trips to the mountains or when you're traveling through the mountains and need a pit stop, these very well could become a lifesaver to keep you from falling and getting hurt.Works well for muddy situations too, avoid slipping and making a mess.Unlike other options some are harder to get the shoe or boot to fit the slide on over the whole shoe, some also need an additional strap to keep them from falling off and may hurt aching wrists/hands. These crampons eliminate the extreme grip and pressure needed to apply the slip-on style with a quick slide into a strap and cinch it in.Fewer hassles, less pain, less time taken from you. Affordable price point. Handy travel bag. Get several, you never know when you might need a spare for yourself, a friend, a family member, etc. One for a car, one for a home, one for your significant other, etc.

Great!!
These are especially great because the other style I found of ice cleats go over the whole foot. My husband has really large feet and it's so hard to find a size that will work. These just go around the foot so it's really a one size fits all (or at least most!)

Easy to use
I got these Crampon Traction Cleats because they aren't full shoe ice/snow cleats. I only need something to walk between the front door & the car and full-sized cleats are too much of a hassle. These are EASY. Hook loop on & off and they come with a little bag to keep them contained.
