Why would we wear waterproof socks instead of waterproof hiking boots?

Waterproof boots work, but are often heavy, stiff, and not very breathable. By integrating waterproof membrane into the socks instead, you can wear regular shoes and still avoid the discomfort of wet, cold feet-in a much lighter, comfortable setup.

Are waterproof socks fully rain-proof?

Not entirely. During extended exposure to rain, like long rides or runs, water can enter from the top open. However, when combined with gaiters or waterproof pants, waterproof socks are very effective at keeping your feet dry and comfortable in wet.

How breathable are your waterproof socks?

Our waterproof socks use the PORELLE membrane, developed with over 50 years of manufacturing expertise. They offer a Water Vapor Permeability (WVP) rating of 15,000 g/m²/day (ASTM E96:95), meaning they allow about 70% of sweat moisture to escape.

Why is it better to choose a size up for waterproof socks?

The laminated fabric - a membrane sandwiched - of waterproof socks reduces some of the stretch typically found in regular socks. If you have wider feet or are at the upper end of a size range, we recommend sizing up to ensure optimal fit and comfort.

How should I wash and dry waterproof socks?

They are machine washable with any standard detergent. We recommend air-drying inside out, though it may take longer. If you use a dryer, please ensure tumble dry low setting. Do not place near direct heat sources which can damage the membrane.
