Love my kettle. Beautiful colour.

Adorable kettle we bought this to match our Smeg coffee machine matches perfectly. These products from Smeg are so robust and with a wipe they are clean. Now just to send for the toaster to make the set. I know they are a bit pricey but when you look and feel the great calibre of these products you know that they were worth ever penny

Looks fab in the kitchen and heats quickly, and without the noise and drama of some kettles. It looks and feels to be good quality and sturdy too.

This review is for the kettle I purchased back in 2019 plus its replacement. I would not recommend this kettle because the model only seems to last until just outside of its 2 year warranty. For the price I would expect it to last longer. The fault I have experienced with the kettle switching itself off after just switching it on has been the same with both kettles, roughly around the same term of use. I complained directly to Smeg with the first kettle and was offered a replacement for a third of the price given it was just out of warranty, so I accepted and paid for it. I then had to wait for it to come into stock and it was a pain returning the faulty kettle, which they requested, taking quite a few attempts with its collection. The new kettle finally arrived but this one from day one had a problem with its lid not popping up fully. After the faff experienced in getting it I decided to live with it. Now this one has developed the same fault of switching itself off immediately and you have to stand whilst it’s boiling and keep flicking the switch until it reaches boiling temperature. As you can imagine I will now be buying an alternative brand which is sad because I love the Smeg styling and it matches my toaster :( Since this review I decided to take this up with Smeg again and happy to say they have dealt with it promptly without quibble and I will be receiving a replacement but sadly this could take up to 4 weeks.

Nice retro design. Smooth lid operation. Only downside for me is it’s 2 cup minimum boil.

Due to the way Amazon groups reviews for the same product that maybe shipped from different sellers I want to be clear that I purchased from Dawsons Department Store in the UK via Amazon.co.uk. The reason I mention this is that some of the reviewers who gave negative feedback may well have received fake or reconditioned products, because their issues don't seem to make sense if you buy an original NEW SMEG kettle. My new red SMEG kettle arrived in good time. The letters are raised letters. The brand 'SMEG' emblazoned on the kettle are solid and look as if they will not fall off (not printed letters like some of the reviewers have described based on their purchase). Also the lid being plastic makes sense, otherwise you could burn yourself, so I'm happy it's made of good quality solid plastic. Further, the list has a rubber seal preventing steam and/or water leaking out when you poor water out of the spout. The main kettle body is metal and painted and does get hot, so be aware of this point. Having said that, the head is no different to other kettles out there on the market. I read a couple of reviewers have blistering paint, but I've not seen this porblem (yet). Time will tell I guess. Overall, I really like this kettle. Yes it's expensive, and yes some parts are plastic, but it's all solid and well made based on first impressions. I purchased this product ignoring all the negative reviews in the knowledge that had they been right, then I could always return the product for a refund. So far I'm not expecting to be one of those disappointed customers. Your mileage may vary.

Epic kettle. Looks excellent and boils in the blink of an eye with hardly any noise. This is quality I don’t mind paying for.
