Lightweight, slim, easy to clip on a keyring, bag, belt hoop or zipper pull, these are perfect for the teen to take on the Duke of Edinburgh hiking trip as a safety alarm, and with four in the pack she can kit her friends out too.They do have a small chamber so imo are not as loud as a traditional whistle, but for the purpose intended they are perfect to send out a distress signal if she gets into trouble.I may suggest she carries one on her school bag or attached to her school coat zipper too for day to day safety.I’ve posted a quick clip of the whistle being blown, whilst it’s not deafening it will suit her needs. A whistle is not something many would think to grab but with these being so compact they are a useful thing to have my daughter and partner each have one to hang in their bags. They emit a very lud note which would easily attract attentions so as an emergency whistle they are great, not too sure about use for sport as they a bit too compact for that in my opinion. I feel they are too high priced for what they are, but still a good purchase all the same.

I was impressed by a 4 pack of whistles being available. I use whistles a lot in my job and the idea of having multiple ones was ideal as it meant never being without one. One at work, one in the car etc.The whistles arrived promptly and were well packaged. There are two blue and two silver whistles in a bamboo shaped design and they make a lovely sound. They are pea-less which means that they will work in any weather which is great.However, for my purposes they are far too quiet. Fine for indoors in a gym or hall but not for outdoor games.

Small bamboo styled metal whistles with keyring attachments, claiming no 'pea' as a virtue but resulting in not the loudest or most distinctive sound I've ever heard albeit a simple and transportable sort, I guess I just prefer the peaness of my Acme Thunderer.

There’s an old adage that a tool is only any good if you have it with you when you need it. It’s the same principle with any item of emergency equipment. This four pack of whistles is an excellent example that illustrates the point perfectly.The individual whistles are anodised aluminium and are incredibly light yet very strong. You can easily fasten one to your car or house keys and just forget about it until you need it. Hopefully you’ll never need it but for the price it’s silly being without one. They’re loud enough to get attention, which in an emergency is the main goal. Being the hollow reed type they aren’t going to be as loud as a referee whistle which has a much larger air chamber as well as the pea inside. Of course one of those is louder but are you going to be carrying one on your keys? They’re bulky and eventually you decide to cull down your key ring and it’s one of the things that gets the chop. These little whistles add very little bulk, and negligible weight to whatever you clip them to.I’ve got one on my keys, and I’ve also hung one on my work identification badge. It’s the type that’s on a neck lanyard and the whistle adds no noticeable weight and looks inconspicuous as well.For the price I think they’re an absolute bargain. I’ve given two of them to my wife and I’ll be ordering more for my daughters and grandchildren. Highly recommended.

These are very nicely made premium looking whistles that are light weight despite being metal. However I was disappointed with how loud they were. When attempting to blow harder/louder, the tone fails and they actually get quieter when you blow really hard. I'm sure they'll be adequate for my needs, but I was really hoping for a loud whistle.
