One of the coolest projects I purchased for my daughter
This hands down would have been so cool to have when I was a kid! If you’re great at making paper airplanes you’ll love this! Adding the prop only enhances the whole experience! This has kept my daughter busy for hours. I’m completely intrigued with the whole concept. Great buy!

Great addition to the aviation curriculum!
The media could not be loaded. I teach high school aviation courses and just got these to include in the curriculum. It is a nice addition when talking about control surfaces and their impacts on flight. As the battery starts to drain, the airplane will stall, dive, and recover which leads to another discussion. I got the basic 2.0 kit. It came with a paper template for one model and then it had links to other models in the included paperwork. The students enjoyed comparing the performance of the models and troubleshooting each model when it didn't behave as desired.I will say that you should not be surprised when some struggle with the initial airplane folding. Even with video instructions, I had several get a bit frustrated with the folding. I do not see this as a bad thing. I want them to have the experience of following instructions and building something. If it leads to them having to learn to deal with productive struggle, even better. This is something that is missing in their lives as they do more and more in the virtual world. If you have students that you know will struggle with the folding for whatever reasons, the models do vary in difficulty so you can guide them to an appropriate plane.I used them for 2 sections for 3 periods. The battery packs are still performing well and all propellers are intact. I did have a student snap a stabilizer bar, but it is not crucial. There is a spare parts kit offered on their site that I will be getting in the future but had the student experiment with using a larger paperclip for the repair this time.In closing, I absolutely recommend these for class. I look forward to seeing what else we can bring out of their use of them. (The video is only 5 seconds of the 25-second flight.)

Broke with first use
UPDATED REVIEW: customer service reached out and provided a replacement product. I appreciate they went beyond to improve our experience with the product and now our kids are enjoying this!Broke on first use - recommend flying it where it can land on grass or something similarly soft, rather than concrete or blacktop. That said, it is advertised as being durable and should be able to handle usual impact of a paper airplane landing on the ground, but it doesn't. I do not recommend this.

Disappointing performance
I was very disappointed with this item. It does not fly like the video indicates it does. It flies into the found or does a couple of circles before dining into the ground.

Not actually crash proof
Fun? YesGreat gift? YesActually crash proof? NoThis was a fun gift, but broke on the first afternoon of playing with it. I honestly am not surprised, not many things can survive dropping from 20-30 feet. My beef isnt that it broke, my beef is that it broke when they claimed it was "crash-proof".I had fun while playing with it with my kids, but it wasn't worth the $20 for the hour we got before it broke

Great idea and fun
Love the idea, especially with my adolescent grandson discovering physics and engineering the fun way. Keeps the airplane flying a long time, Easy to see the effect of design and small adjustments, trial and error. Gave it 5 for durability, keeping in mind that it crashes into the ground every time - this has yet to break. Good exercise is a given. Definitely gift-able to the right person. Thought it a bit pricey before playing with it, but changed my mind, it's a 5.

This thing is a gas and made a middle aged man feel like 9 years old again
What an incredible toy! As a pilot and a lover of all things related to aeronautics this little gizmo fired up all of my cylinders. Couple of pieces of advice; number one spend the time making the paper airplane, cut out the control surfaces (tail/ruder and elevators). Fine tune in little wind with the unit on the plane but not powered. Secondly, and this was my initial mistake...Use fresh batteries. Enjoy!

Not much considering the price
Just prior to receiving the device I folded a plane from slightly heavier paper than was supplied with the shipment. I then attached the device and it totally failed to fly. I then folded the same design from the supplied paper and it (sort of) flew. The concept of giving a paper airplane greater range (after much trial and adjustment) is fine but the construction and quality of the device is not anywhere close to the cost. Frankly, I'm a bit embarrassed to have paid so much for so little.
