Delighted to get the 5 litre size for less than it would cost me in France - and delivered for free. I use it for everything - floors, stoves, dishes, stain removal,aphid control in the garden, cleaning and conditioning paint brushes, shampoo.... and more.The odor is fresh and clean without smelling either soapy or perfumed. And it cleans far better than any detergent product I have used.Marius Fabre makes it the old-fashioned way with no added chemicals or scent. There are a lot of products that are sold in France that call themselves savon noir, but when you read the ingredients have just added 10% savon noir to a detergent base.

I bought 5 litres and no-one in my household likes the look or the smell of this expensive soap. My son told me he felt he needed to wash his hands after using it. I think the olive oil is too strong. The last one I bought was eucalyptus scented and was lovely. It also looked black. This one looks very off putting, like something coming out of a duck backside, greenish yellow. I am pretty disappointed. I give it 3 stars because I think it's soft on the hands and cleans well.

Can be used for cleaning just about anything. I use it highly diluted as washing up liquid as it stops my crockery smelling of artificial perfume and also getting sore hands from supermarket products.

The smell is somewhat unpleasant but the results make up for it.2 of my dogs suffer from dry eye and I need to be very careful with any cleaning products, some can make their condition worse because of the fumes. So far great cleaning results and no double doses of drops and ointment.

I am now quite addicted to this black soap - it cleans everything; floors bathrooms laundry - everything and disinfects it at the same time ............ great product for these days of covid and a really great soap
