Perfect for archiving media and promo cds that I have, great quality, a little heavy and reads and writes in perfect quality.

The length of cable is so small that I have found it difficult to keep the drive level when it's connected to my laptop. The angle between the laptop and the drive means that the cable is often at an awkward angle, consequently I have discovered that the cable covering has split and the core is likely to suffer from fracture due to the bending of the cable next to the connector.It was cheap but should have lasted longer than it has! It was bought on 25th April and has been used daily.

This isn’t a drive dedicated to just playing DVDs and it’s taking an eternity to get the thing to prepare to show you what’s on the dvd. Annoying. Would buy something simpler to use if only needing to watch DVDs on your laptop. Hate this gizmo.

This is a very slim line and small dvd/cd writer/reader, which is nice, but also means that it is a very light weight item, which may be good or bad, personally I prefer drives or drive housing to have a bit of weight behind them, so that they do not move around too much when inserting disc's, in this case I have to actually hold the drive while pushing the draw back in otherwise it pushes the drive off the top of the case.The main problem is the cable is built into it, and that cable is very very short for this sort of thing, about 6 inch long, which will really limit the places this item can be located, I had intended it to sit close to the front of my tower for easy access, but the cable length means it has to sit on the very back of the tower case, which means to insert and remove disc's I have to reach across my entire desk and all the way into the corner of my work area., personally I would have preferred the cable to be the usual type of cable, with connectors at both ends, where if I found it too short could have gone out and bought a new longer cable.Installation under Windows 11, was simply plug it in to a USB port and wait a bit for windows to sort it out, reading from the drive was simply insert disc and off you go, writing you would require a program to do that, though Windows may well have basic native ability to do it.

Unboxed, plugged USB in and it works.Easy-to-useOnly used CD haven't tried DVD, cd worked perfectly instantly.

Decent product promptly supplied but not recognised by Toyota RAV 4 that no longer has a CD supplied. Hopefully connects to my laptop.
