Does it support rebooting (sudo reboot) for the raspberry pi? I am using it with an M2 adapter and I have to unplug and re-plug to reboot.

reboots fine for me. There are issues with Raspberry Pi 3B+ (and others) rebooting but that does not seem to have anything to do with the USB drive attachment. Be careful when power cycling by unplugging the micro USB, I blew one of my Pi's into Silicon Heaven doing that. Unplug the power supply, have a switch or do what the other commenter recommended to cycle power.

Can you boot directly from the msata?
