Clever design
This is a nice little brace. It holds my thumb knuckle in place with just the right amount of give (other braces have over-straightened the joint, causing pain and slowing my recovery, so a little give is good). It's lightweight and unobtrusive, even for me, and I'm crazy-sensitive to pressure on any part of my body. I can type and use my phone and generally use my thumb normally with it on, to the point I forget I'm wearing it. It stays in place well, and I can even wash my hands with it on (though it does come loose in soapy water, so I have to be careful not to lose it).On an environmental note, I searched for a friendly option for my strained thumb tendon, but the metal braces have a soft foam lining (a microplastic disaster) and come in plastic, the cloth ones are all synthetic (again, microplastics) and come in plastic, and even the silicon sleeves come wrapped in individual zip-lock plastic bags inside a larger zip-lock plastic bag, and they wear out quickly. These braces are plastic, and they came packaged in a zip-lock plastic bag, but it was a very small bag, with the multi-pack all together in one bag. They also seem like they'll last much longer - long enough for my poor thumb to heal. And they're hard enough not to be shedding microplastics every time I wash my hands. So, overall, I think they might be the best choice for a low-plastic option. It sucks that there aren't better options, but my attempts to make my own failed, so here we are....Anyway, I recommend this brace if you need to keep a finger or thumb joint in place with a light "fingerprint."

So comfortable !! Absolutely love it
I whacked the crap out of my thumb playing a tambourine for hours at a gathering and two days later it was crazy sore. Did the traditional aluminum splint first but it was hot and bulky and always getting dirty. So ordered this gadget and it’s great! Keeps my thumb from bending much at all (could add tape to make it even more so). Easy to take on and off when I want to gently exercise or massage NSAID cream into it. I can do gunky things like peel avocados and crack eggs either way it on because it washes right off when I rinse/wash my hands! Thumb slowly getting better so looks like it helped me avoid a trip to the hand Dr! I will only use the other when I’m doing things that might really stress it if I moved wrong (electric hedge trimmer and heavy yard work/lifting)I bought the assorted sizes and the second biggest one fit my thumb. I have medium size hands- guys should definitely go bigger!

Make sure you order the correct size.
Measuring with a ruler or tape was not easy to do. I ended up ordering a pack with many sizes to figure out which I needed. Make sure you measure the thickest and widest part of the finger. I needed a larger size to get this past my knuckle. Other than that, this support/splint is great. It keeps the middle knuckle of the finger from bending far enough to lock (trigger finger). It is plastic, so I don't need to remove it when working in water.

Comfortable, Discreet, and Surprisingly Eco-Friendly
This is a great little finger brace—I’ve been using it for a trigger finger (a condition that runs in my family), and it’s been really helpful. It keeps my thumb knuckle supported with just the right amount of flexibility and isn’t stiff or uncomfortable like other braces I’ve tried. It’s lightweight, low-profile, and so comfortable that I can go about my day—typing, using my phone, doing daily tasks—without really noticing it’s there. It stays in place well, and I can even wash my hands with it on. While it’s made of plastic, it feels like a more eco-friendly choice compared to other options on the market. All in all, it’s simple, effective, and easy to live with.

Sizing is critical
I have a trigger thumb, so I can’t speak to these splints on a finger.Be sure to follow the measurement chart closely. I confused my measurement with the wrong size column, and had to reorder.I was going to send the first ones back however, the shipping cost was more than the purchase price. As it turned out I used the “too large” ones anyway. The proper fit ones would NOT slip over the arthritis bump on my knuckle. As such, I ended up wrapping tape around a portion of the larger splint to keep my thumb from bending. A PITB!It works great at night when sleeping. However, if you need dexterity in your thumb to perform some tasks you will need to remove the splint as the front part of the splint rests on the middle of the thumb pad making many movements impossible; unscrewing a lid for example.I give it 3 stars for night use, but knock off the others due to restriction of hand function.I have found that 3/4” tape wrapped directly around the knuckle works just fine. YMMVAgain , if you order some, make sure you use the proper sizing chart since it will cost you more to return than you originally paid.
