I purchased this product to make Chinese hot and sour soup. Great product great packaging very happy with it.

So I finally used this product and boy was I disappointed. First of all, the texture should have a little crunch to it. Not soft and mushy like mine came out. I've cooked with this type of fungus before and there was always a crunch to it. That's really what texture this is supposed to provide since it has no taste. It actually grows where I live (Hawaii), but conditions have to be right (rainy weather for a couple weeks) and it grows in the forests and I'm a senior so I figured buying it was much easier than going out and picking it. Oh well, I just threw the rest in the trash where it belongs.

A good value for the money. The product was exactly what I needed.

I bought this to add to some Chinese dishes I like. They are a bit more rubbery than I remember but add texture. Be advised that they expand quite a bit when rehydrated.

Under absolutely no circumstances soak in warm water for 30 minutes. (Per my experience) it got slimy and mushy. I threw out and tried again with less time in lukewarm water same result. I'll try again in cold water, but I went through a good portion of my jar.

I WOULD BUY AGAIN. BRILLIANT FOR ASIAN STIR FRIES.
