These are absolutely fabulous for my preschool classroom! I try to have a lot of sensory materials available for my students because so often we have children that need support with managing feelings, interacting socially with others. Giving a child sensory mats like these can help calm them, or even sometimes redirect negative feelings like anger, frustration, helping “melt” those feelings away. (That is because you are refocusing their energy into a new activity, that can temporarily distract them.) Then once they are calm, you can finally talk with them about the complicated feelings they have.I have been using these in my classroom for a few specific children to help support them, and this has been working! They love the cute little animals, and the little “activities” each one offers. Plus they come on a ring, so it is easy to keep them together, so you can just hand the child the ring, and they can choose which sensory experience they need to help calm. They are the perfect size for little ones to hug and hold, and yes, hugging has happened…they love hugging the bear sensory mat because it is so furry!This is a great tool for any child to help them meet their calming needs. So far my students love this, so all the experiences are extremely calming for ALL my students. (They have been calling it my animal book, since they are together like a book) They have liked all the sensory mats, but one of my student prefers just the fish because of the movable sequins. (Plus the sequins are very fluid, and don’t seem to get stuck, like some other mats I have tried before.) The fish sequin sensory mat is kind of is the modern version of popping bubble wrap for her, very calming, keeps her busy for awhile. Plus it has been building her language skills, something I have been working on with this child the whole year, because she is starting to ask for it. Definitely a score for me, that I can get her to communicate her wants and needs!I highly recommend this set because I find it a great value for how much I get out of this, 1) children finding ways to calm independently, giving them practice with learning how to self-regulate2) it has cute animals that are interesting to them 3) the textures are interesting and engaging 4) children are using language and words to ask for a turn, perfect incentive for children who may not ordinarily ask questions or tell you what they need 5) and allows redirection opportunities so I can talk with them about their “big feelings” when they have calmed down. I definitely think this is perfect for any child who needs support with handling feelings and emotions, and any student with sensory needs. You will not regret this purchase for all these reasons and more!

As a Vine reviewer, I always consider the upfront question -- would I pay for this from my pocket? Yes, I would.The sensory mat tiles for kids are a fantastic addition to any play area. Each of the 6 tiles features a different animal, including a fish, dolphin, pig, bear, crocodile, and tiger. The flip flop colored sequence on the fish is a favorite sensory experince amongst my two sons, while the brown bear's fur provides a very fun tactile experience. These sensory tiles not only help kids relax but also aid in building vocabulary as our family discusses the different sensory experiences each tile offers. The vibrant colors and varied textures of the tiles add to the overall appeal. These tiles are a great way to engage children's senses and promote learning through play.Why 4 stars and not 5? I think the quality of each tile could be better. We have been playing with them for a month but I’m not sure how long they will last with normal wear and tear.

I have 9 month old twins, and they absolutely loved these sensory cards. The "fish scales" sequins one is their favorite. It's a good price for their quality. They are durable and have lasted with two babies drooling, chewing, and bending them.

This is a great sensory toy with many different textures. They're very well made and very durable. My son absolutely loves them. Great product and an excellent value!

This is a nice set for introducing children to different textures. The sequins move smoothly. My only issue with this set is the ring does not allow for each piece to be flipped. It is small and thwarts the shape of the characters.

While the size of these is a little smaller than I expected, the kids in our special needs class loved them. The animals were a hit and they are sturdy enough that I think they will last for quite some time. The pile on the rugs and fabrics is not very high so they don't give as much sensory input as I would prefer, but overall they seem to work well for the students and look great.
