**Q: Are the handles strong enough to not break when pushing down hard on firm dough while rolling it out?**
A: I only rolled put sugar cookie dough  it was not that firm or hard
I use a buttermilk sugar cookie dough plus I sprinkled flour on rolling pin to stop dough from sticking.

A: The pin and handles work separately. You can hold the handles stationary in your hands while rolling the pin over the dough.

This is a real sturdy, hardwood roller. The adjustable height rings work well. Only drawback is that when you use the rings you can only roll out dough as wide as the rolling pin. I’ve used it twice but maybe there is a way to do it that I just haven’t figured out yet.
