Good, inexpensive espresso machine but NEED TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
I have no financial benefit from this review. After reading negative/positive reviews for this Neretva Espresso Coffee Machine - 1/2 Cups/Frother, I decided to purchase. Although I've only had it since 8/27/25 (writing this review 8/31), I am convinced the bad reviews are because the buyers didn't read the instructions. This was obvious to me because of complaints about the "error messages" and water exiting the steam wand. I was not familiar with espresso machines, and am new at wanting to learn how to brew espresso and other coffee beverages, so had to also look at You Tube videos after reading the instruction booklet that comes with the machine. After experimenting since the machine was delivered, today I was able to make a Flat White. I had several failures using the frother/steam wand. So, there was a learning curve for me. Although I have only been using this machine for 5 days, I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend for anyone who doesn't want to spend more than $100. I would give the warming tray a "D", but everything else an "A". Instead of the warming tray, I pour boiling water in my cup (and empty prior to brewing the espresso), while I'm getting everything ready. The suction cups are very strong, so I decided to put the machine on a small, hard placemat, as it's much easier to move the placemat around than to unstick the suction cups from the counter top to move it around. Also, I needed to purchase a metal pitcher to steam/froth the milk per You Tube videos. Because this is an inexpensive machine and because Neretva does not have a brick/mortar I can call directly, I purchased a 4-yr. warranty.I learned through the internet Neretva has been around since 2008, but it's a global, e-commerce, brand that manufactures and sells a range of small, electric kitchen appliances, mainly through Amazon and Walmart, to consumers who want convenient, affordable appliances for making coffee, bread and a few other foods at home. I have no clue as a consumer how to contact them; hence, the warranty.9/10/25 Update: I still recommend this espresso machine, but wanted to offer a tip due to what happened to me this morning making my daily espresso. I set everything up to just plug in the machine and press the button before I left for about an hour to do my daily laps in the pool. When I came home, I plugged in the machine and pressed the power button while I took a quick shower. Ten minutes later I was ready for my espresso so pushed the 2 shot button, waited and during what I call the countdown, nothing happened. I did this again, and no espresso came out. Reviewed the Trouble Shooting page. Quickly I realized that the water tank was empty, went through the process again with a full water tank, but the machine did not produce any espresso. Then I removed the Portafilter (which was in correctly) and saw a few coffee grounds on the rim of the Portsfilter (which I hadn't noticed when I got everything ready). I thought "Surely a few grounds wouldn't prevent the machine from working?", but I brushed off the grounds with a very small paint brush I use for this purpose, put the Portafilter into position and VOILA, got my cup of espresso. One might not want a machine that is so sensitive. Okay; I get it. Then spend more money. For me, I'd rather discover the quirks. Just thought this info might be helpful.

Great value! Great coffee! Easy to use!
The ease of use to get a morning cappuccino exceeded my expectations. I used a moka pot for my coffee and my husband used a keurig before getting this. He thought the moka pot took too much time to make, especially because I also steamed and frothed the milk over the stove. So he still used the keurig. Since purchasing this, he makes his morning espresso using our espresso machine and uses the electric milk steamer/frother I bought separately instead of the steamer wand since it’s a little more hands off. So we can froth and warm our milk while making our coffee and they’re done about the same time. Cleaning wise, there is no filter for the water, so I would only use filtered water or jugs of filtered water for this machine to avoid having any scaling or buildup in the lines. We don’t like using descaling solution because I’m worried the chemicals will remain in the machine and then we will consume it. I got this on prime day and the price made this machine a steal. It’s nice and smal and takes up less space than the keurig, which is a HUGE plus for cleaning up counter space while still getting a much higher quality cappuccino. I will probably switch out the tamper eventually since this one seems a little cheap compared to all the other parts and machine itself. But I am extremely happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Makes a Darn good Espresso
This little machine makes a really good espresso and cappuccino or latte for under $100 and it’s super compact which I love. It has a rich body and produces nice crema. While it’s not all metal the plastic part is safe material. At first try it went well but after a few days it did not seem to work properly. It seemed that it was overheating and I couldn’t understand why the E-2 light kept flashing preventing me from making a second a second espresso. Well, I found out that’s because you have to drain the water from the steamer each time after using it if you steam milk. The part I didn’t understand is you have to release the water while the machine is in the coffee mode with the E2 flashing. I thought you had to drain the steamer while in steam mode. Once I figure this out all went well. So be sure to drain the waiter from the steamer after using the steamer by being the coffee mode. I’m going to get the service agreement too.

GREAT... After some modification!
This espresso machine is amazing, and it's my new favorite thing, however, the portafilter it comes with has a PLASTIC insert, which hot coffee passes through... that can't be healthy and I didn't like that.. so I removed it. But then when I ran the machine, the coffee was way too watery and weak...After going down some rabbit holes and doing some research, that plastic insert's purpose is to build up pressure in the portafilter so that you can get decent espresso from coarse, cheap ground coffee. Fine, that's cool, but I don't want to drink hot coffee that's been ran through plastic. So here's the solution, and a huge improvement to get amazing espresso with this machine:Get a coffee grinder that can FINELY grind coffee beans. You want the coffee to be like a flour consistency. Then you pack the finely ground coffee into the basket of the portafilter and tamp it down firmly. After I did this, I get plenty of pressure and extraction, meaning my espresso is amazing out of this machine. It always has plenty of "crema" and rich strong flavor. Our house smells amazing every morning. The heat level is great and the milk steamer on the side of this machine works well - takes about 50 seconds to get it HOT.I give this thing 5 stars because for only $100 and some easy modification, this machine is amazing.

Great compact espresso machine for home!
I’ve been using the Neretva espresso machine daily and I’m really impressed. It heats up quickly, makes a rich, flavorful espresso, and the milk frother works great for lattes. The LED display is super helpful, and the design looks sleek on my kitchen counter. Great value for the price highly recommend for any coffee lover at home!
