This does exactly what I wanted. I am experimenting with a fun idea for a desktop conference phone mod. I needed something to hold a MXL 770 but it needed to fit on my desk. It also has to hold a wind screen. Overall it accomplishes this well. The only limitations I have are:1. the lock-nuts hurt! they are thick gauge stamped metal. No fun to do with fingers at all.No sharp edges just uncomfortable.2. Quick releases would have been really nice, but for the price I didn't really expect any.3. No provision for a counter balance weight. Yes, it needs one with the heavy microphone and wind screen. This was pointed out by others and looking at the design it is obvious why it needs it. For not a bit of wire and a weight does wonders.4. The legs only deploy to one angle and can not account for any non-uniformity of the surface. I am used to camera tri-pods so please pardon my naivete if that is actually normal for audio tripods.

I buy expensive K & M stands exclusively now for my mics in my studio. Cheap stands just aren't worth it - you end up having them not hold in the spot you put them, either slowly over a session, or as soon as you let go!However, the pair of these little stands I bought 2 years ago are still used all the time for one purpose - miking guitar combo cabs! I typically use some type of dynamic mic (beyer M69, EV RE18, Shure 545) and it works perfectly every time. I don't even have to think about this mic stand, unless I have more than two guitar speakers to mic up, and then I tell me myself "You need to order a couple more of these little stands!"

This Stage Rocker mic stand turned out to be exactly what my Drum set needed after several selections. The tripod legs can fit between the legs of the other stands, without hindrance and without tipping over (which was my biggest concern, especially because it was to be transported to me here in the Caribbean), the height can be adjusted nicely. Yup! Thanks for making and having this stand available for purchase! Now I just have to apply proper care to it (as we all need to do) for it to last as long as possible.

I bought 2 of these... one for the bass drum mic, and another to sneak in on the side and mic the floor tom. It doesn't go high enough for the floor tom. It works okay for the bass. It's very basic in design. If you're going to use these for a club situation where they're moved frequently, I would not recommend these to you. They will not last that long in that environment. But for me, keeping them in one place, not over extended, they will hold up decently!

5 stars, excellent kick mic stand. I use the beast shure beta 52b, a very heavy mic, and it holds it perfectly however its positioned. I only rate the sturdiness at a 4 though, simply because there is no counterweight and it has some short legs (but that's what hacks are for! I use a 2 lb. Dumbell)

This little guy is perfect for desk microphone use. It is very versatile and can be adjusted in many different ways. I would recommend it to any vocalist, broadcaster or musician who needs something that can easily sit on the desktop. It is very sturdy and doesn't wobble on glass. The locking screw on the bottom that keeps the base in place may strip over time or with too much torque, everything else seems as though it will stand the test of time.

This mic stand is okay. It is good enough that I will order another (since it is cheap). However, I wish the end of the boom arm was more like a counterweight. That would make certain placement better. The stand is pretty secure, though the way I position my mic, it can tip the stand over.

There's no black thread connected at the end just pure metal and its to big for the shock Mount I have .. No where in the description does it tell you the dimensions of the metal thread to even buy the correct mount or adapter to adjust to your needs can anyone help me because its useless until I can use it without wasting money
